How to receive selected calls when volume is turned off

I turn off my volume at night but want to be able to receive any calls or text from my son. Can you select a number to come through when the volume is turned off?

I'm thinking you'll need a basic DnD (do not disturb) app. I don't use any as I'm not the most social or important creature but perhaps others will have better (read actual) recommendations for you.
