How to remove yelp notifications from lock screen

Like I said, see ya. That is my point exactly. However, don't be surprised to see more and more of this. People spend more time on their phone than they do talking to actual live people. The cell phone and all the technology that comes with it is becoming a boon for advertisers. The revenue that can be generated thru it is going to become more and more tempting for manufacturers and carriers.

You wanna bet HTC does a reverse course and doesn't roll this out globally after the "pilot" phase. Besides they won't generate much revenue if their is an opt-out option. Which almost every user will select when given the option.

With the opt out option in place, I would be surprised if they reverse course. They still get the revenue even with the opt out. More than likely they are paid by the advertisers just for making the ads available. I would be just as surprised if it is based on hits. Of course, these are just my assumptions.

The biggest assumption you make is that about the opt-out. They were a little non committal about when that would take place. Call me a skeptic but I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt here. That's the issue people on the HTC blog were more upset about, more so than the feature itself.

As of Android 6.0, the notifications came back. To make things worse, the Yelp suggestions setting is gone in the settings menu.

The new way is, Blinkfeed > Menu > + (Add Content) > Uncheck "Mealtime Recommendations"

It took me forever to figure out :(

While the lock screen stuff can be disabled in blinkfeed settings... you cant remove Yelp from the blinkfeed easily. This is how to kill Yelp, and probably all future ads:
1) Make sure you have the new Sense widget where you can choose - 'Work, Home or Out'. If you don’t have it on any homescreen, then add it. (You can remove it after)
2) Click on the word 'Work, Home or Out' and then click on the three menu dots on the right.
3) Select 'Personalize HTC Sense Home'
4) Untick 'Share My Precise Location' and 'Share My Personal Usage Data'
5) Remove the Sense Home Widget if you’d like.
6) No more Yelp! (This should not affect your location for weather, or maps, or anything else)

Thank you so very much! :) I am unaccustomed to Blinkfeed as I have always used the Google Now launcher. I followed earlier instructions but was unable to find "Blinkfeed-->Notification on lockscreen--->Uncheck Meal time bundle" perhaps because BF was never set up. Your thorough instructions saved me from going mad! Unfortunately, I didn't find them before HTC got an extremely unhappy "blinkfeed feedback" in which I vowed to switch to Samsung. I'm no less disillusioned with HTC for forcing this on their customers and leaving us to find the solution.
I can't thank you enough. My sanity has been restored. :D

I did this and it still didn't work, not sure what to do but these yelp ads are making me want to throw my phone :(
