How-To : Removing sprint bloatware (with root)

Download Titanium Backup (free) from the market and apps can be easily deleted. Select backup/restore , select the app and it gives you options to backup, delete etc..

Uninstalling it (Sprint Nascar for example) with Titanium didn't work for me. And now between Titanium, EVO Unrevoked, Root Explorer, and Superuser Permissions, I have added another 4 icons to my launcher, which is exactly what I set out to reduce in the first place haha.

Sorry folks, we haven't been faced with this before. I have a theory... if someone is willing to backup Sprint_Core.apk to their computer (or sd card), then remove it, and then remove the others and see if that works.

Actually, where is it? I don't see it in the /system/app folder and I searched for it with root explorer and nothing turned up either.

Its proposed this app runs in the background and notifies you when a Sprint App updates... maybe it has something to do with this... Thats my reasoning. This is hard without the phone, sorry guys/gals.

new verified method updated guys :)

I have removed a few apps already, and rebooted and they stay gone. Boom-Shock-a-lock-a

Trying to use the mount command under adb shell
Not sure what the correct syntax is given that I'm a n00b and all
mount /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
Usage: mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-t type] device directory

lol
Whaaa?

I was about to do this until I read the latest warning.

However, I love the excellent write-up and and have stickied it.

Anyone that benefits from the above posts, please take the time to push the thanks button.

Seems Like It

C:\Android\tools>adb shell
# mount /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
mount /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
Usage: mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-t type] device directory
