[How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD, using KP500 (Diag mode)

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

I used this method to flash ZVD so I can run Drew's rom. Everythng went well, LG software update tool says completed, phone rebooted as mentioned and came to the android startup screen. Like it send in the post that it would take 3 min or less to build everyting, so I waited. Its been 30 min and my phone is still on the android logo screen. I didnt exit the LG update tool yet.
What do I do now?

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

Does the LG Tool say "Complete"?

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

Yes, LG Mobile Phone Software Update Completed. Thats what it says. Still on Android screen :(

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

What do I do? Use the unbrick method Android Jerk mentioned above??

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

3 button combo doesn't work either. can I remove the battery, put it back on and try starting the device? or is it not good?

It should be ok. If the software updater says completed, then the NVRAM stuff was written.

I would try this:
pull battery
wait 10 secs
replace battery/cover
simultaneously press [Power] [Vol Dwn] [Home] until Recovery starts up
Using [Vol Dwn] highlight "wipe data/factory reset" and press [Menu] to select
Press [Vol Dwn] however many times to highlight the confirmation and press [Menu] to select
When that is done press [Menu] to select "reboot system now"

I'm assuming you have a recovery installed where you can actually see the options (ie you aren't running stock v9 recovery with new LCD) If you can't see anything in Recovery, then just repeat the battery pull/reinsertion and this time just press [Power] to boot into Android to see if it works the second time.

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

Ok, did that. Phone booted and had VD installed. However, it says, sprint ID download failed, will download when data is available. Signal bars look fine but I don't see any 3G symbol. Is it not normal??
I could see while powering on that I still have custom recovery in place.
Only wifi is available. It says Sprint in the notification scroll down though. and yet no network connection :(
What should I do next??

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

Android version 2.2.2, baseband MVD, SW version ZVD. (in about phone menu)

No that is not correct.

First, disable Wifi and see if that helps.

If not, It sounds like your phone needs to redownload the Sprint login info.

You can try Menu->Settings->About Phone->Update Profile

If that doesn't work, 99% chance a ##786# reset will fix it. It'll erase everything and reset NVRAM, but you've already erased everything so no big loss. You will need your MSL though. If you don't have it, just call Sprint, ask for tech support, tell them your phone is not able to get connected and they suggested you do a ##786# reset, but it is asking for some code and you are stuck. They'll give you a six digit #, that is your MSL.

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

Wow, the update profile did work. 3G symbol back on now. Downloading contacts.
Thanks so much guys, for your patience and guidance. Learning a lot from you.
Not just about android, about doing something for someone for no apparent return. Cant express my gratitude enough. :D

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

Now that phone is back to normal ad working with ZVD, not rooted but with custom recovery, how do I install Drew's ROM. Just want to be sure before attempting.
Do I use this method (Rooting LS670ZVD with GingerBreak (no reverting and OTA works too!)) to root my phone and install Drew's ROM. Or can I use ginger snap too. Please do let me know.
And I'm not gonna mess my phone untill a CM7 port of VH is available for our phones :P almost scared my pants off.

Either should work. I'm kind of old school so would use GingerBreak, but some folks prefer GingerSnap.

Couldn't tell, you held it together well.

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

Thanks though. I'm gonna read through both ways and see which one is more idiot proof.
Any way, despite clicking the thanks button on your suggestions, I don't feel I expressed that kind of gratitude I feel now. Why is there no donate button on your page?? :(
I promise, when you're going to start a new proj (custom ROM or any utility or anything) that needs funding, I'll try my best to make a contribution I can afford max :D

YOU GUYS ARE AN INSPIRATION \m/

Re: [How-to] Revert to LS670V9, after installing OTA LS670VC/VD,

So how do I use that GingerSnap? Install .NET, Install C++, download GingerSnap zip, extract to pc. Run the gingersnap.exe? thats all?

And press "Root". I've actually never run GingerSnap myself but have looked over the prior incarnations so am roughly familiar with the way it works.

Weird, I installed .NET and C++. Unzipped Gingersnap to desktop. Connected my phone, USB debugging enabled (should I?). Ran GingerSnap.exe, clicked 'Root'. Got a message that my device has been rooted and will reboot. Phone never rebooted and no superuser installed either :/

EDIT: Dumb me. Enables debugging but didn't connect to my PC. :D wonder why it said, device is rooted.
Did again and now its rooted with superuser installed. Going to install a Drew's ROM now. I already have custom recovery right, so can directly flash the ROM?

You probably want to ask on the gingersnap thread or just go old school with gingerbreak, where I can help you more.
