How to root latest update for Evo?

Pardon if I'm bumping... I am trying to root an Evo with the HBoot being updated as of Early Oct. I have tried all methods known to man and no luck. Perhaps I messed up somewhere, but if someone could help me out with that, I will forver be in their debt. If someone could point me in the right direction, it would be of great help. Thank you in advanced.

I haven't stayed up to date on all the root methods for the evo.You can try the sticky at the top of the page to get you back to 2.1 which then you could root.If that is not possible cause of the newest hboot then i would say hang in there and im sure the guys a unrevoked will have it cracked soon.

What method did you try? I was able to root my device maybe I could help.

UPDATE: Not sure if it helps or if this is the "preferred" way to root your device on 2.2 (its what I used and it worked fine) - Take a look at this post on XDA-Developers - HERE

Go to xda. The new hboot is rooted, goodluck.
