also says cannot find the filename specified so i take it these files have to be downloaded sorry to be a pain
It's all in post 1 including the files you need and what to do with them. Give that a read.

Come back after you try it if having any issues. Also lots of people have traveled this road and taken bumps along the way so search this thread. You'll likely find the answer to any questions, or if you can't find it, post it.

thanks says its not there anymore figured i could give it a try if available while waiting on this download process not much i can do, if you have the program or a link would be great if not i am sure i will be back with more questions on getting this root to work. the only reason i got this phone was to go in depth with upgrading it hopefully i can get it to work.

There's always backups of the apps.;)

cant seem to find it google must have a block on it somehow nothing works

What context are you using "nothing works" in?
Nothing works as in searching for z4root and finding it?
Nothing works as in the two z4roots attached to two diffrent posts by Beezy do not work?

Nothing works as in what exactly?

And it WAS still on XDA Developers site, you must have not payed attention to the post there.

xda was down earlier for a little while they had problems with their server or something,i had to double check cause i thought he meant that z4root was gone completely from their site.

@scooled101 did you try the second apk i posted? Have any luck with that one?

I rooted my phone maybe a week ago, and Ive noticed that I no longer recieve incoming calls, Im told it goes straight to voicemail. I can call out, get text messages, and voicemail. has there been any issues with rooting to cause this problem? because Im thinking I cant really call sprint to get there help.

also I havent seen any threads on how to unroot a phone, does anyone know where one would find those directions?

I may be way off base here but are you changing your directory first?
> cd C:\\android-sdk-windows\tools

Also, if you just recently downloaded the sdk, adb was moved from the tools folder to the platform-tools folder so you should cd to that folder.
