how to root on 2.2??

nope thats exactly what ive been doing. same file. im about to just give up. flash back to DL09 and redo the 2.2 OTA and stay stock. idk what the problem is but its obviously beyond us

Wow... well sorry I couldn't help, but if you are planning on going back to DL09, you can find the thread on getting to ED01 quickly from Adrynalyne, then after doing that, there are some stock rooted ED01 Froyo ROMS on here that you could flash to have rooted Froyo. It may work to just flash the rooted ROM over what you have right now, thus giving you root.
