You cannot use gingerbreak for 2.3.3. If you are on gingerbread you need to use the method in the post b4 yours. Follow the link and read it 6x's lol. It worked first time for me! Like I said you need to read carefully because if you skip one step it won't work!

i'm all ok about rooting, and would do so if a couple of ?'s can be addressed. 1. i thought rooting meant Unix @ the other end. im not 'seeing' that. is that true? 2. Apps? after rooting, do the app's still run - that is the apps that I want to run, like browser, photos, and how about videos OMG like utube, etc! i really thought the x2 could do that. whiskey-tango-foxtrot? please enlighten, as im sure my $ wasnt misspent, just misdirected. :'( //doghouse3438
