How to root Transformer 4.0.3?

It looks like ASUS is done supporting the Transformer. I want to root to get a smoother experience. Does anyone know a method that works with the current software?

I feel the same way. I will not buy another ASUS and will get a Nexus next time.

Rooting alone doesn't offer any performance benefits unless your willing to take the plunge into Rom'ing and that has more to do with which S/N# you have. Which indicates if you can NVflash your TF-101 or not. Once you figure that out head over to XDA is my best suggestion: Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 - xda-developers

Where do I get the info about flash compatibility ?

There is a sticker on the bottom edge with the S/N on it.
