Here is a link to a thread about CF-Auto-Root. If you go to the website, it lists the versions of the phone that are supported. Note that rooting the phone will cause the knox warranty void status to trip permanently (unless someone finds a fix). When the knox warranty void status is tripped, the knox software will no longer work.
Apparently some Samsung repair centers are refusing to service phones with the knox flag tripped, so I would say no. Also, there are two versions of knox, personal and enterprise. You can use knox to secure personal data, if you chose to do so. If the knox flag is tripped, you would not be able to use it. Also, if the knox flat is tripped, my understanding is that OTA upgrades will not work. The best of both worlds would be to find a way to root the phone to debloat it, while not tripping knox. Over at xda, it sounds like someone is getting close, so close that QUALCOMM demanded the thread be taken down.If I havea S5 for personal use and not business, isn't a dead KNOX what I want ?
When is at&t gonna be rooted?

For those of you who want to root your HTC One M8, the steps are nearly identical to the original HTC One M7 root method except different CWM/TWRP recovery file is used. I will be using Windows computer in this tutorial but I have provided the code you need for Mac and Linux, also you can refer to HTC One M7 Mac video and HTC One M7 Linux video.
If you want to root the latest HTC One M8, here’s how to do it. Before we begin, make sure to MAKE A BACKUP of EVERYTHING on your phone. We will first unlock the bootloader, which will ERASE EVERYTHING on your HTC One M8, you’ve been warned!
Uninformed galaxy 5 user , I basically use my phone for that and want to get more out my $$. Why do I want to root my phone
The link is another forum.Very helpful, thank you!Got that brand new shiny Galaxy S5 yet? Want to root it? Of course you do.
Here's a quick run down of the models that have been rooted so far. Don't give up on the others just yet, the phone's new and people need time to learn how to break it open like a kinder egg. We'll have plenty of discussion about what to do after you've rooted as well. That's sorta what goes on in the Rooting, ROMS and Hacks forums.
Current as of 04/11/2014:
We'll add more devices to the list once they're broken open!
I think the Verizon model G900V is unable to be rooted at this time? Thats what I am seeing on XDA.
