ok i followed the process but nothing happens i get the same thing over and over again is there something i am missing? i restarted my phone after setting debuggin on. start root thing is that engaged on pc or phone? can i have a screen shot or copy/paste of a succesful log of how its supposed to look on command prompt

Yeah this is my first time as well. It looks like you haven't installed the drivers. Download them, unpack them, then run setup.exe. You should be good after that I think.

Make sure you've unpacked the FascinateRoot_v02.zip and THEN run the start_root.bat

Don't forget to enable usb debugging and then restart phone while it's connected to the USB.

Did you download and install the drivers before starting, you can find them on the first page, if you are using a basic home pc its probably this file which you can find on the first page of this thread looks like this below

im wondering, i have a telus fascinate running froyo 2.2 stock. Can i use this method to root? Also, can anyone recommend what roms to use or anything to improve battery life... i cant seem to get more then 9 hours or so...

Ok I did all u said. Mine says error device not found like five times. It turns phone off and on I unlock and wait........after five min I hit a key and nothing. Drivers r install debuggin enabled.....plz help lol

I finished rooting it I think I mean the program ran in the command prompt and it did restart my phone but when I downloaded ROM manager it says it can not find superuser /system.bin.su or /system/xbin/su

sorry but i must ask did you download and install the drivers ? and are you making sure you are in USB debugging mode, and making sure to check stay awake?

Thanks for the reply... yes to all of the above.

I found a solution, and it should work for the few others here I saw with the same issue.

My phone was still in the shutting down mode when the .bat tried to continue, so though I've never created a .bat, I was able to read this one, and "fix" it.

First off, it seems the "call PMSleep" was not working. Then I noticed where I had to "press any key to continue" there was a "pause" in the .bat, so I added a couple of pauses, though I'm not sure the second one was needed.

When the phone shut off, I waited for it to come back on, unlocked it, waited another ten seconds for good measure, then continued. For doubly good measure, I added a second pause where it called for a 3 minute wait.

FYI - Windows 7 64 bit

So for those whose process was running exactly like mine (2 post up), right click on the START_ROOT.bat, and click edit, then add in the couple changes I made (nothing that adds any risk, just two pauses):

I appreciate your update, EdwardsNH. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me and the phone kept freezing. I ended up using the z4root method from XDA, downloading it from the forum via Astro File manager (change the preferences to allow browser downloads, then go to the file to install). Worked like a charm. Everyone at this forum is super helpful, though! Learned a lot.

root problems

hi i was trying to root the fascinate and i have completed all the steps correctly i downloaded the correct drivers, then i hooked the phone up with debugging turned on and also stay awake. i connected it to the pc and the drivers installed correctly but when i execute the root it goes through and pushes the programs but then the cmd window closes out really fast and nothing else happens i captured a screen shot of it right as it closes and there is an error that reads

i have tried it with the sd card mounted and dismounted. i am currently running windows 7 64bit and my phone is 2.1-update 1 build number sch-i1500.di01 please any information will be usefull and im and i like to tip the developers that help me out lol
