How to Root

I feel so lost. I clicked on start_root and it said it was complete but now what? Where do I find directions for what to do next?

well what was your goal by rooting, what did you want to accomplish?

Hi DroidXcon,

Your guide to rooting is excellent and I was successful in my first attempt. I do have one suggestion as I am looking for this as I type. A guide to unrooting. The best I have found is at the beginning of this is says adb shell and then gives some other guidelines, but being a beginner I am not familiar with this shell and how to access it.

This would be a tremendous aid because when Verizon pushes its update I will have to unroot to get it and that could be problematic.

I now understand that little cartoon on how each phone owner is portrayed the iphone you have about 1/10% who are willing to jailbreak their phones thus the hip look they never worry about it and just get the latest it will work. The blackberry owner staid and steady believes he knows how to update his phone just downloads the code and double clicks to put on the latest and greatest from someone. Then the Android nerd he is in the wild west willing to try anything

I came from the blackberry now I know just because I could download someone's code and put it on the device I have a long way to go.

well what was your goal by rooting, what did you want to accomplish?

LOL I don't know, I was just expecting something more spectacular. I was actually expecting to screw it up because I am not very tech savy.
So now that it is Rooted, what can I do? I need to read some more, obviously

First thing I personally would do is rid yourself of all that Verizon crapware

Apps that are safe to remove once Rooted
