TeamViewer?
Also, why are you trying to use RageAgainstTheCage? If you are on ZVC or ZVD, that will never work. This guide says to use gingerbreak and nothing else, so I suggest you don't try anything else.
@ Drew later ill pm you with a new file that will help streamline the root process.

A workable method for mac

That might have been my fault - I think I directed him/her to a post about getting Android SDK and adb installed on a Mac, but it was part of an older rooting thread that used RATC. I should have mentioned that once adb was working to head back here.
This guide assumes you have added the Android SDK tools directory to your PATH variable. Instructions for Windows 2000/XP can be found here. Instructions for Windows Vista/7 can be found here. With the latest version of the Android SDK, the default tools folder is "platform-tools" which is in the "Android\android-sdk-windows" folder in Program Files. With some versions of the Android SDK the default tools folder is simply "tools" which is in the "Android\android-sdk-windows" folder in Program Files. Your mileage may vary.
ok i have a few problems if someone can help.
first off i did install the lg drivers and my phone hooks up to my computer fine.
i really dont understand this part. and the instructions? wtf? i have no idea how to do that.

Hey guys, I've updated OptimusRootZVD.zip to include Superuser.apk. Install using your favorite file manager.
EDIT: Also includes the adb.exe binary, so you don't need to worry about installing the Android SDK and whatnot.
Thanks DroidXcon!
So can't get past step 8
it runs but never stops...just a continuous - sendmsg <> failed?
I tried both the ./gingerbreak and
/data/local/tmp/gingerbreak commands.
Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot the problem?
Thanks so much for your work, I truly appreciate it.
I understand that I dont need to install the sdk or whatnot, but I do not know what to do. Do I still have to follow the original instructions with all the command promps and whatnot? I apologize, I tried reading it a bunch of times but I couldnt understand.
So pretty much Im asking what is the process of rooting since you have altered the files?
Ps: if I can get it working I will buy you a beer![]()
