How To Use Google Now?

Hrm, I played around a bit with the voice search last night, and today just read this thread and set up some of the location settings for home and work as this thread suggested... but now I have a problem.

I'm not sure what I did to the thing. Right now my Nexus is a day old, stock, fully updated, does not have a SIM card (waiting for that T-Mobile one to get here through the mail), on WiFi. I have not loaded many apps onto it yet. Just Chrome, Play Magazines, and Google Listen.

Yet somehow I have broken search. I can't search. I hit the search bar, or go to it through Google now and I ask it a question aloud or through type and I briefly see it flash the answer, it starts to speak then.... crashes out of the app. Poof just dead. I've tried force closing it, clearing cache, and rebooting the system...

So what happened? How'd I break it? All I did was enable searching Browser History, and set Home and Work locations.

*Edit meh, since I haven't even stuck A SIM card in I just did a factory reset. Works fine now, no idea how I glitched it out.
