Install the EC10 zipped file using odin? I thought I had to use recovery to enable lag fix and back up. Or do I just do those steps after I install EC10?
Oh, I see what you're saying now. I need to go back to the previous version of cwm. When using odin to do it will it just overwrite the newer version or will it cause problems?
Officially running on voodoo. Thanks so much for your help! Now off to spend the rest of the day with my phone. =)
just so I am perfectly clear before attempting voodoo...
I am currently on 2.9.1/EC10... can I just flash the voodoo kernel following the steps in this thread?
From what I have read and understand, non-voodoo to voodoo is OK. But voodoo to non-voodoo is not, unless you "un-voodoo" first (disable lag fix)
And a data/dalvic wipe is not nessacary... correct?
Thanks!
all correct sir.
voodoo to nonvoodoo good
no, thank you.![]()
Almost forgot... do I need a voodoo ROM paired up with a Voodoo kernel? And if so, which do I flash first?

Negatron. voodoo vs non-voodoo, aka EXT4 file format vs RFS file format, applies to the kernel only.
Vis-a-vis, there is no such thing as a voodoo or non-voodoo ROM. A ROM is a ROM is a ROM........is a ROM.

Thats what I had thought, but then I was confused when I was reading DXC's SuperClean Thread at it has links for both voodoo and nonvoodo 2.9 ROM:
ROM:
Non voodoo
super_frankenclean_2_9nv.zip
Voodoo
super_frankenclean_2_9v.zip
why is that?
Those ROMs INCLUDE the kernel so no need to flash the kernel separately. Since you are already on the 2.9 ROM, you just need to switch the kernels to go from nonvoodoo to voodoo
Ahhh... because those are ODIN packages, correct?

no, not necessarily. some of Adrynalyne's recent zips that are CWM flashable have ROM+kernel in them. the embedded script in the zip does the flashing of both parts for you instead of you having to flash them separately.

AND IT'S NOT DXC'S SUPERCLEAN THREAD, IT'S ADRYNALYNE'S SUPERCLEAN THREAD. HE IS THE ONE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE GREAT ROMS WE HAVE AND I DO NOT WANT TO SLIGHT HIM OR HAVE ANY CREDIT TAKEN AWAY FROM HIM. Adrynalyne's superclean thread here:

DroidXcon takes Adrynalyne's superclean ROMs and combines them with root and the correct modem in the ODIN packages here:
