How to Voodoo ***Updated 27 Mar 2011***KERNEL BUILT FROM SOURCE/SOUND/UNDERVOLTED

So... should I be worried about "matching" my numbers up, or no? For example, I'm running Evil Fascination 3.3.1 w/ EC01 modem, and I want a Comavolt kernel, which in the other post is labeled "EC10 Source Built ComaVolt TouchWiz ". Will it work? Or should I just go all gunnermike on it and try for myself? lol

It will work. I run times_infinity's comavolt voodoo kernel because it has given me the best results. I have used it on both EC01 and ED01 with no problems.

Cool... thanks man. I'm a battery fiend. Most people want as fast as possible. Personally, I want to be able to call someone after being lost in the woods for 3 days.

You are fine EF 3.3.1 doesnt include a kernel just make sure you are going from non voodoo to voodoo or voodoo to voodoo. If you want to go back to a non voodoo kernel from voodoo you have to disable lagfix in CWM.

could someone help me voodoo?

im running the official ed01 unrooted stock everything and i want to try a voodoo but whenever i try the robot girl says that my system is unavailable.. ive read over the how to voodoo thread and asked questions on it and no one acknowledged my question

First thing you're going to need to do is root the phone. Check back after you've done that and we can take the next step.

I had to read Sheepdog Elite's [how to]sticky and the rooting read me he links to before I even knew there was an android lady in my phone :-p

With the Comm Rom v1.2, are the voltage control settings already set up for undervoltage?

No, you have to set them yourself. There is already a thread started here in the Rooting, ROMs, and Hacks section where people are posting their voltage settings. After you set them you have to hit the menu soft key while still in voltage control and choose "set for now"

Im on the community rom and i know my lagfix is enabled (checked quadrant scores, terminal, and voodoo controls), but in recovery (cwm 3/30) when i go to the voodoo menu, it says:
lagfix is actually: disabled
next boot: disabled

Has this happened to anyone else?

Sounds like you are on the old old csm. Flash cwm 3.

I think I need help to enable lagfix on my phone. I am a n00b, but successfully upgraded to froyo and rooted it. Was trying to understand the post, the farthest I went was install the cwm. I tried boot into recovery and wiped the data and cache. However, I dont what to do when "install from sd card".

my kernal is 2.6.32.9
baseband version: EB01

P.S: Since I wiped my data and cache... Everything is gone, so I really hope to lag fix my phone otherwise I wiped for nothing. Any advice would be appreciated!!

Thanks!

I'm currently non-Voodoo on SC 2.8 and want to Voodoo -- seems like a full flash is in order, right? And while at it, most likely a new ROM. Eh? Actually if easier, would take recommendations for an uber-newbie guide to get things updated. Have read a few for newbies, but seems more complicated than on my OG Droid.

if you flash the Comm ROM, the phone should do the rest for you.

not sure if this is where i put it but i have a stock 2.2 and going to put [6.8.2011][ED01] MIUIWiz *V1.1 on it with a voodoo kernal but when i loaded it the robot woman says convert data partition, systems not available. convert sytem partition, systems not available . what does this mean?

If you are coming from stock 2.2 that means you didn't convert to ext4 before flashing the Rom and the kernal in this Rom won't convert for you (according to nitsuj17). you need to get one of jt's OTB kernals and flash that first (follow instructions carefully!) let the phone boot, then wipe the big 3 and reflash this Rom.

Now I'm confused (doesn't take much, believe me). You had a stock 2.2 then went to KB 1.0 and were trying to flash MIUIwiz 1.1? Or you had KB 1.0 and then went back to stock froyo and were trying to flash MIUIwiz 1.1? What is your status now?

lol im sorry . i was tired when i wrote it. i was mixing info on mine and my wifes phone LOL. correct question is: I have a stock 2.2 and going to put [6.8.2011][ED01] MIUIWiz *V1.1 on it with a voodoo kernal but when i loaded it the robot woman says convert data partition, systems not available. convert sytem partition, systems not available . how do i go about converting ext 4? thanks for your time. im new at this ; )
