How to watch AVI movies on One X

I'm new to Android and thought it would be as simply as copying avi files to the \movies directory of my One X et voila.

But I believe Android doesn't support avi, so I download 4 or 5 different movies apps - all of which couldn't function as the HTC One X doesn't have an SD card.

What should I do?

Did you try Mobi player? an Sd card isnt likely the issue but the lack of codec for the chipset. I would give it a try with the app and getting the codec downloaded from their website.

I put my movies into the Movies folder on the root drive, and it's recognized in Gallery. MX Player is another app that works well - I usually use that instead of Gallery.

Dice player. It plays everything without having to convert. I've been watching my usual 720p MKV movies on my One X and it's the best movie experience I've had on a phone. It can even scroll through the movie faster than my laptop can @_@

Yep to be fair to both Mobi and MX player (and possibly the other 3 I tried) when I checked again this morning they seemed to have gotten over their confusion of "Oh hey there's not SD card what should I do" warning messages, and had detected my movie files.

I think with Mobi (or maybe it was MX) I had to get it to scan through every folder from the root directory (or what ever the underlying Android folder hierarchy is called.)

I've no idea where the movies folder you see in Explorer relates to that underlying root folder though. Oh well - it works!

Yeah, he's right. MX didn't work on my phone.... Dice runs the smoothest so you should go for dice.

Sent from my International HTC One X.

You ask for help, but reject the only possible help people can give you, which is use a different app.
If you take other apps off the table, just what possible help can we offer you?
What did you expect us to do for you?

By the way, avi is simply a CONTAINER, and what is inside the container could be
a number of different things. (MP4 ASP and MP3)
