When the Chromecast has gone into stand-by mode (LED goes from white to red), how do you later wake it up again?
If I try to cast from android-phone, it just cannot find the Chromecast, while the LED stays red.

Only way I have found, is to unplug the Chromecast and plug it in again, and the LED goes white.
But I guess thats not how they intended it to work? :)

When it is in "stand-by mode", does it still show up as a device on your network? If your router does not show your devices, a network scanner program will work. Using Advanced IP Scanner the Chromecast will be listed as "Azurewave Technologies" under the manufacturer.
If it doesn't show up, maybe your router is not renewing its IP lease.

Im having a problem with mine, after a while it just stops casting and i have to reset my router every time if i want it to work, its really annoying. The light never changes from white to red, and it just stops showing in the device menu and wifi network.

I'm having similar issues. The light stays white, but when I turn the TV to the proper input, there is no chromecast screen; just black. When I try to connect anything to it, the app just spins a circle and the chromecast never turns on. I've been having to unplug the USB power to reset the chromecast. One thing I've thought of, and it's still too early to tell, but I recently started using the HDMI extender and thought that might be causing a problem. I've taken it off and I'll see if I still have problems... Hoping all is well, though.

Are you powering it via the power adapter or through a USB port on the TV?

No, through the supplied power adapter and USB cable. Taking off the HDMI extender appears to have done the trick. I'm curious how many people use that thing and if it is a widespread problem? Through all my searching, I haven't come across any other mention of it in the forums.
