The moto g? No, not waterproof at all from what I understand.

It has a water resistant nano coating that works quite well in my experience. I would not advise dunking it in a pool (duh) but I left it in my bag at a football game where a water bottle drenched it. It worked just fine and is still chugging. Why are you asking?

Insurance on a $180 budget phone??? Ehh... Idk unless you live the kind of lifestyle that would need the insurance for your phone. Just be careful with it. On a random note, we just had a huge rainstorm here in Utah, and I used the phone outside to film me and my friends going down hills in trash bags ( a blast by the way) and it got rained on pretty hard. Was a little wonky, but I threw it in some rice and here I am typing on it. Its a tough phone, that's for sure and my personal preference would be no insurance. Good luck brotha
