How well is the gs3 built?

Seems that eBay has a bunch with broken screens and cracks etc.
I am seriously considering buying one dec 22 on my upgrade.

I have a iPhone 4 and I am hard as hell on it by accidentally dropping it and shift work in a coal fired plant.

Will it be fine?

Alot of drop test don't end well with the gs3 so I would recommend an otterbox defender if you drop your phone alot

Go with the Otterbox commuter which is roughly 30-40 bucks and a he'll of alot slimmer than the defender and for screen protection the Zagg Extreme. With that combination it will take serious impacts to break the phone.

Most of the time I use an Otterbox Commuter with my SGSIII. It is much less bulky than the Defender while offering more protection that TPU cases or cases such as the Incipio Silicrylic. I got mine from Amazon for about 25 bucks.

I went with the commuter for my S3, great case and not as bulky as the defender. Picked mine up for $20 on Amazon.

If you are going to put a case in it, then any phone should hold up. I wouldn't chance not having a case in any touchscreen phones nowadays.

+1 on the otterbox commuter, phone is still slim enough to fit in pocket and it looks and feels like mil-spec protection. Dont need a screen pro with this phone as it has gorilla glass and handles all but the most brutal scratches very well. It will set u back $40 but its worth it for the piece of mind.

I've unfortunately dropped my GS3 a couple times but with the simple rubber case from VZW, it still looks brand new. I'd say it's built pretty well.

I dropped my S3 quite a few times and it held up fine. Of course, there were a few scratches on the battery cover, but nothing too bad. The speaker and earpiece were loud and clear.

I have the otterbox defender series cuz I'm a human. I did meet someone who had a S3 and the screen costed him $180. $34 vs $180.. easy decision there. There are cons about the otterbox but I'll say this. I have total peace of mind and have no worries if I drop the device. I got my otterbox 5 days after i got my phone. I was pretty nervous for awhile there. It all comes down to where you drop it. If you drop it on a concrete surface you can almost say game over. If you drop it in on a carpet or something that has some padding you could be ok. When I 1st held mine it was quite lighter than my old droid1 which ive dropped DOZENS of times and zero screen issues except cosmetic stuff around the edges here and there. Its build 'ok' but don't expect to abuse the hell out of it. Anyone who says otterbox I totally agree with them.
