So I am an iPhone 7 Plus owner and considering returning the phone to get the Pixel XL. I'm not a big expert on the android software as much so what features of the Pixel XL would win me over? Thanks!

The biggest feature that no one is talking about: it poops rainbows. I know that sounds weird, but when you see it - you'll get it.

I'm not sure why the sarcastic response? I was hoping someone would be able to fill me in on some of the features of the device.

It's just light-hearted fun :)

I'm excited for the camera and the assistant features. Never had a pure Google phone before.

Am sure you will get a better response. Pretty sure it has been a long day/week/month:p on the forums with several launches & the obvious Note 7 recall.

Yes hopefully there will be much more thought out responses than what I said. lol not trying to be down in either device, they have a lot in common and I don't think I can say which one people should like better. Very curious what everyone else thinks.

Curiously, are you have any issues with the iP7+? I keep reading about poor connection/call quality on Verizon & some ATT. Am guessing it is something software related & maybe an update will fix it?

As far as comparing the Pixel & iP7 lines. Would think both devices will hold their own performance wise in a given segment. It will just come down to which operating system has the most value or options for you.

Well, basically customization over iOS? I mean, that the common reason people choose Android over iPhone.

But to make thing simple, I will listed down the reason why you should get a Pixel or iPhone.

Reason to get Pixel:-
1) Customization
2) Widgets, lots of lots of widgets
3) Rooting and install custom ROM
4) APK allow to downgrade certain apps that you had just upgraded
5) Deep Google integration and all the Google goodies
6) Unlimited cloud storage for photos upload
7) 3.5 mm headphone jack

Reason to get iPhone 7:-
1) Up to 3 to 4 year major OS update
2) Waterproof
3) 3D Touch
4) Dual Camera
5) Most of the new apps will be available to the app store first
6) Because it's got the Apple logo behind the phone

Not sure what you mean by free apps. Obviously not pirated alls because that is illegal. Apple offers free apps in their app store just looked Google does in the play store.

I know I shouldn't says that but, but there are some country who doesn't couldn't download or purchase due to the apps is region lock, APK are the only solution for them to installed it. Maybe I should just edit it to something else.

Apple major op system updates, but Google is constantly updating every single app. Which I think gets neglected in the thought process for the avg consumer.

I'm constantly told that apps via Apple are more expensive to purchase vs Google play store(free via ad supported) apps. Maybe that was the direction the comment was intended?

I have not had any issues with connection so far BUT I do have the infamous "hissing" sound. I was told it is a software issue and is being fixed with 10.1 iOS.

Ironically enough, as the owner of a Nexus 6P, I'm thinking about the possibility of switching to iOS. I'm quite sour on the fact that Google is charging iPhone level prices for an unproven device with marginal internal upgrades over its predecessor. To me, the Pixel XL offers very little to justify paying $1000+ when all is said and done, including accessories and state taxes.

A smaller screen, no upgrade in battery capacity, still no OIS for the camera, and the loss of dual stereo speakers with no mention of a DAC for bottom speaker at the keynote, in terms of a demo of the sound. So what exactly would I be paying for with a Pixel XL that would wow me?

Having said that, like I've said before, if I were to win a Pixel XL, I'd gladly take the opportunity to be proven wrong. Otherwise, if I wanted an iPhone, I'd buy the real deal, not a wannabe iPhone running Android. 😐 My concern with iOS as my iPhone devotee (she's also used Android) best friend tells me is that it's so locked down, and that I'd have to be tethered to my computer.

The experience will be similar. Everything should just work as it does for iPhone. Google taking total control of hardware and software, ala Apple, makes this happen. The differences; iPhone has longer upgrade cycle (maybe G will start doing this also on Pixels?), iPhone is waterproof and iPhone camera will probably need better. On the plus side for Pixel, many of the customizations will outdo the iPhone, and the overall Android experience is better. Widgets, custom screens, and other personalizations. I do believe the play store has many more good free apps than Apple does.

Pixel XL is Android meaning a lot of Customization which I love. Secondly it is VR compatible which is a feature you should try. Another main point is the Updates to Android. 7 Plus on the other hand is water resistant. Good camera equivalent to Pixel.

I'd say go for it. I've been back on iOS since 2012 and I freaking love it. While I do miss some of the customization Android provides I wouldn't trade that for any of the compromises I'd have to make in choosing an Android phone.

While I still think it's a pretty great OS especially with Nougat there's too many negatives for me that outweigh the positives.

I still don't understand this whole having to be tethered to a computer thing. The only thing I've used iTunes for is having a physical backup of my phone on my computer and syncing ringtones with ZEDGE other than that I don't have my phone 'tethered' to my computer at all.

In your case, if your 6P still works fine, let black Friday be the deciding factor. Though am not expecting either Google or Apple to offer much in the way of discounts on their premier lines. Would think that is where the stores will use the Samsung Galaxy variant. But only 6 weeks away & may be worth the wait?

The op just has to decide now since it seems the 7+ is still within a return window.

Thanks for that info. Though Michael Fisher of Mobile Nations did a 7+ review & was thinking the sound was more hardware related. Scroll video to the 5 min mark for more info.
