This will be my first venture into using a phone as my primary MP3 player as well. I have done quite a bit of reading on the options, but I would like to get everyones input so I can be ready to go on the 4th.

Using my iTunes with the i-phen 3gs. Honestly I don't know how I will be managing music On my evo. I know you can drag and drop onto the micro sd but will all my efforts of organizing my songs/albums/genres be wasted? Because the actual file names are different than the way it appears in the iTunes library + organized on the apple device. What will be the most painless and best transferred way to ensure it categorizes just like it is in iTunes?

I'll be using Doubletwist while madly wishing there was something that could also handle Audible, TV shows and better video management.

MP3s are a thing of the past for me. It's all about the cloud now. I personally love Slacker, and haven't listened to any of my 10GB of personal music in over 6 months.

Unless if you're an audiophile, lol. I tried Slacker, and did like a lot of music it chose for me, but I NEEDED to have my music in FLAC and in MP3 CBR 320 for my MP3 player. I like Slacker and all, but I can't give up my FLAC and having a physical copy of the album. It's all personal preference choice though. =]

iTunes will not touch my computer or EVO when i get one. Most likely will just use drag and drop.

good question. Been using iTunes fr the last year with my Pre.
When I switched to Linux on the Desktop I tried gettig away from it but it makes things so easy.
I'll keep playing with amaroK, I like the "old" spelling better, trying to get it to organize my music and DL album art. Two things iTunes does really well. I still have Windows in dual boot mainly for iTunes, and DVD backup.

DnD baby...

Works great on my Pre, Hero, and BB Tour.

Slacker Plus codec seems to stream much better IMO, but I am certainly not an audiophile.

Drag and drop mp3s, Slacker/Last.fm/Pandora/Shoutcast for streaming, and Subsonic to listening to my music on my computers at home.

I've got all my crap in FLAC too, but I just stream it to my phone using the android client for ampache.

You can transcode the FLACS it on the fly to 320 MP3. 4G should be able to handle this no problem.

Syncing is so 2007.
