MightyText just notified me that I missed a call on my cell, which is downstairs, as well as who the caller was. It also shows my phone's battery percentage, and it can sync photos & videos on my phone to my tablet. And of course, I can use the app to text "What?" to the caller :-D and that text msg and any others will be on my phone. I may never touch my phone @ home again.

Didn't know that feature was on the tablet, I knew the Chrome extension supported that. Does it alert you as the call is received or once missed. My only issue is I would prefer not to miss the call if possible.

Both. I get two notifications, one for the incoming call, and another for the missed call if I don't p/u.

Since I've gotten my new Nexus 7, my phone usage has greatly decreased for two main reasons: 1) the battery life of my old Galaxy Nexus is subpar and requires frequent charging, and 2) I like the larger screen real estate of the N7 when browsing.

So I only use my phone for pure communication, such as calls, texts, and messages, for my calendar, and if I'm out and about doing things but don't have my tablet.

For everything else, such as browsing, reading, or gaming, and wherever else I am (at home, on a trip, at work, etc), I use my tablet. I'd say the split is 80% tablet, 20% phone. This may change slightly when I get a new phone this year, whether it be the Moto X or the next Nexus 5.

Yeah, I f?nd that between my Note 8.0 and my Xperia Tablet Z I don't use my phone as much as I used to, I use it when I'm out and about and using a tablet would be more awkward and I sleep with it near my pillow and reach for it just out of security in my sleep. My S4. My Precious.

I've uninstalled apps & widgets from my Galaxy S3 that were only to retrieve info or steam audio and video (such as the Android Central app/widget, Android Authority app/widget, local & national news apps, Facebook, PocketCasts, Usteam, Flixster, video & music streaming apps, etc) I've turned my phone into a device that is used only to make & receive calls, send & receive text & gmail messages, use Google Maps and calendar. I use the Nexus 7 for everything that I removed from the phone. Since I've done that my data use is about 10% of what I was using and paying for before. Too bad the reduction from the 3GB data plan to the 300MB plan with AT&T didn't reduce its cost by 90%, but I know I won't be going over the 300MD limit!. My next phone next year might just be a basic non-smartphone!
