How's your battery life?

I'm thinking of getting an HTC Thunderbolt whenever it comes out, and seeing as it's more or less the same phone as the Inspire 4G, I must ask... how's your battery life?

The battery on the Thunderbolt is pretty small, but the Inspire's is even smaller, so I'm a bit concerned.

If it's intolerable, I may hold out for the Droid Bionic and its 1930 mAh beast.

After 13 hours I am at 37% battery life. That's with moderate usage. Not extremely heavy. I also use juice defender which has helped a lot. Not sure what it does. But it helps. The phone has never failed to get me through an entire day, so the battery life is good enough for me.

My Inspire has been unplugged since 9:48 a.m. this morning and it's on 39% right now. I constantly press the ATK widget every time before I lock my phone, so that probably helps a lot. I'd say a little bit over moderate use. I'm actually pretty pleased with the Inspire's battery life, I thought it would be horrible.

I'm a fairly heavy user. Battery life is less than my Blackberries, but more than my Aria, so I'm happy.

I leave the house at 7 and head home at 6, it's LOW when I leave, but it's not dead and I have a charger in the truck.

I've had my Inspire off the charger for about 15-16 hrs with what I would consider light-to-moderate use; it currently has 30% left on the battery.

Although this is a very small battery as smartphones go, it does very well, and will always depend on each persons individual habits, locations, and general use. If you are a heavy user, a backup battery will be helpful if you don't have any other power source.

I am a heavy user of phones, and I installed JuiceDefender and it has greatly increased my battery life on my inspire.

So far it's been running 9 1/2 hours and I'm at 55% battery life left. A handful of phone calls, multiple e-mails and texts, some light browsing, some ebay action, and just random toying for a few minutes here and there. Definitely enough to get me through the day, and I already charge every night regardless of the phone I have or battery life (habit from old phones that didn't do well, and reading that modern batteries don't need to be drained everytime). I was worried about battery life at first, and I keep a charger nearby if necessary, but it seems I have little to worry about with normal (for me) usage.

My battery will last from 7am to about 6pm. That's with tweetdeck updates, email, games, using gps with waze to and from work, and with crappy signal reception at work and home. I'm always bouncing back and forth between edge and H+ at home and work. Only difference is, at home I'm on wifi. I'm always near a charger anyway so it's not a problme for me if I need to put a little juice back in the battery.

Battery Percentage Question

New Inspire user (first smartphone) here. I see that some people are giving percentages for battery life like "57%" or "42%". How do you find battery remaining as a percentage? I found the status indicator under Settings, but it only shows a bar with 10% increments. Is this an app or something on my phone I have yet to find?

Thanks.

It's a widget. It's from the htc hub.

There must be something wrong with my Inspire, then. Battery life SUCKS! I get maybe 6-8 hours. I am a heavy user, but when I check the usage details, the screen always accounts for the most, usually almost half. I have it set on auto brightness and a 30 second sleep. I do use JuiceDefender, but haven't noticed much improvement. I used to get 12-14 hours on my iPhone, so I'm really disappointed.

Is there any guide to let us know how to improve inspire's battery life ?

Here is a nice little guide that provides some steps to take to improve your battery life. When I first got mine I was only getting 6-8hrs as well. Since I've searched around the forums and picked up some good tips my battery life has improved dramatically.

[GUIDE][NOT SPAM] Enlarge your battery life : an attempt to fix the battery drain - xda-developers

In my opinion if you wanna get outstanding battery life you're gonna have to root your device and install a custom rom. You'll also need setCPU from the market (only available if you're rooted). This app will adjust your CPU settings and help to conserve battery life as well. Good luck.

well for my day to day usage the battery life for this phone for me is more than enough.
i charge the phone overnight and unplug at 5:30 in the morning. then head off to work until 3pm. throughout the work day i do some light to moderate web browsing, facebook/twitter/email, and the occasional youtube video. all this is done on the network because i do not have a wifi connection at work. and by the end of the work day i am at around 50-60% depending on how much i used the phone that day.
and the rest of the battery is enough to last me throughout the evening until i go to bed. :)

I normally get through a full day of usage at about 20% left...moderate data used/downloads. Mostly texting and music.

I am surprised how well it sips...
