How's your GPS after the update?

"Fix" isn't working so good for me. After flashing Cognition v2.1, I got a quick lock. I also was excited that the GPS was doing pretty good on my drive home... but that was short lived. Now I am back to changing settings in LbsTestMode trying to even get locks, and the GPS still wanders and is inaccurate in My Tracks / Google Navigation when a lock finally happens.

GPS Fix, Kind of?

After the upgrade, my captivate was able to find satellites faster while I was standing still. I thought it was fixed. But, after taking it on the road with Google maps, it had a hard time keeping up with the satellites. I just can't believe that Samsung could have released this phone with such a poor GPS quality. I hate to say this but, my old iPhone did a great job in this department. I love this phone but, this is the most frustrating thing. So, this is only a half fix for me. Come on Samsung, get it together!

No joy here either

Still seeing the same problems. Mapping software shows me driving through the corn fields instead of the roads, Apps with speedometers say I'm standing still when I'm actually moving at 25mph, and I can't get a lock with 6 or 8 satellites visible.

My former phones (Nokia E61 and E71) were great for GPS applications.

My GPS is STILL 3 miles off at best...anywhere in NW Ohio that I travel to. No difference with this update. :(

The GPS worked better on the day of, and the day after, the downoload. Now it is back to behaving as before the "update." Which means there is not an improvement.

My gps issue has seemed to been more accurate after our "mini" update.

I have not tried the actual driving gps application but when I test it at home now, its on the same street now and not 4 streets away.

I did try to use the actual gps while I was going to the dealership to have my truck serviced, I lost signal about 3 times and I got lost and I was an hour late. Lol

I hope that has improved as well.

Works Fine

I have installed the update, and now lock in to 8 plus, within 18ft. as closest position. Just received phone on 09/22, no complaints thus far.

OK, So I tried it again today 9/25/10. While driving, as long as I had it on my dash in full view of the sky it was tons better. I lost signal to the satellites two times at two separate instances. The vehicle wasn't under trees or under an underpass, so, I can't explain why it lost the satellites. I would really like to purchase a Galaxy Pad when it comes out but, at this point I am loosing confidence in Samsung. It is great that they are coming out with new products but, in my opinion, they should fix what they already have out first! We can only hope they will get it right when the Froyo 2.2 comes out!

No improvement for me with the GPS update. Except now whenever I reboot my phone, the screen always displays "congratulations your update has been installed".

Edit: It's no longer telling me that it updated. Rebooting is behaving normally again. GPS is still no good though.

Hey people.

Yesterday I had a chance to use my gps like it should be...I drove from Philadelphia, Pa to Elkton,Md.

I didn't have any problems at all and it was dead on. I lost signal one time and I do think that was because I was using Pandora, Gps and trying to execute a phone call and sms. Lol

Other then that the tril and gps were sucessfull and also I use foursquare and its been evenly accurate, after my "update".

Mine doesn't seem to be any better, in fact it seems worse. I was questioning if even got the update until I saw tethering was gone.
