Haha..I deserve to be taken down for that... I would almost ask them to take them down anyway..

I am waiting on my battery to charge to full then I'm going to start flashing KANG BANG!! I went all the way back to DL09, then OTA'd up to FROYO... Flashed CWM fix via ODIN....moved all the .zip files..I'm primed ready to get on it..

KANG BANG!!!!!!!

Note: That didn't work..blue cwm is still there.. going to flash rooted package via ODIN.. and try again..

You were on a stock kernel. After you flash cwm-fix you have to boot directly to cwm with the three button method. If you boot the phone into the OS, the stock kernel will revert you back to stock blue recovery.

So I have been reading for several days now about the fascinate and I am very confused. I have successfully rooted and downloaded several Rome for my Droid and brothers Inc, but this is a whole new beast. I have a fascinate with build di01. Baseband is v.di01. I am trying to get to froyo, and the ota update is not working. I have never used Odin before, I understand the process, but this phone has never been flashed with anything. I did root it via z4, however all of that has been removed.

I have the ea28 file as well as the update.zip file mentioned earlier in the thread

Any help getting to stock froyo would be great.

Thanks guys for all you do!

I am having no luck when I try to follow your instructions to get Froyo on the Fascinate. I've downloaded all the files, and can't get Odin to launch the restore process. It always sits there for 20-30 minutes, then fails.

I even bricked it once, but unbricked it by following the instructions on YouTube - ‪How To Unbrick Samsung Fascinate (Restore)‬‏.

Now, it is back to DI01, but I can't get it past that. Anyone have any suggestions?

1. Make sure the battery is out of the phone for the whole process
2. Make sure to use USB ports in the back of the computer near the motherboard
3. Make sure you have the correct Samsung drivers downloaded AND installed.
4. Make sure you are only using the PDA button with ODIN.

Where do you want to end up at? I recommend flashing KangBang with the ComaVolt Kernel....it's the best Rom I've ever had on my phone since rooting. Sharkster has some very nice ComRom Packages put together for ya in the stickies..follow his lead and you'll be loving your fascinate...

I did manage to get ED03 installed with Odin. Still not sure what I was doing wrong, but, its working, so why fault success? The radio is still at EC01, but hey, ya can't have everything!

There are options now available for a more rapid radio install - see link.
