Just got a HP Lapdock V8H07UT in today that I ordered from eBay at a very reasonable price for a refurbished unit and it looks practically brand new. So here are a few things I've encountered with it...

1. Does not ship with a power adapter and seller does disclose this. It did not power on with an HP 45w USB-C power adapter. I purchased an Anker 60w USB-C power adapter which works for both power and charging.

2. My Anker USB-C to USB-C 2.0 cable does not activate DEX instead the screen just flickers like its trying to connect. Using my Anker USB 3.1 cable launches DEX with no problem. EDIT: thunderbolt cable also works.

3. I am not getting any sound out of the Lapdock speakers. I made sure my sound was set to the HP Lapdock. If you choose to mirror your device the speakers from the lapdock will work. EDIT: one work around is to enable "Prevent USB audio routing" in the developers options to force audio to play through the N9.

4. The actual physical left and right mouse clicks on the track pad does not work but the taps and gestures work. Similar to how you would use the Note 9 screen as a track pad which you can use instead if you like.

Other than the sound and physical click everything else seems to work pretty smoothly. I mainly use a wired or BT headset so the sound issue is not a deal breaker. Just as an FYI I'm using an AT&T snapdragon 512GB model. I'm looking forward to packing this in my bag instead of my laptop since I mainly use Citrix VDIs for work I think this could replace my laptop. There's a thread about this over at XDA if you want a little more info but everyone who has it working seems to have the same issues. Link below.

Yeah would've been nice if Samsung made one. Hopefully they will.
