HTC 10 and AT&T

I am using the same sim I had with the 9. I had HD Voice with AT&T with this sim. It showed in the settings. With this phone there seems to be no way to know for sure?

Is HD voice turned on in the phone settings? In the dialer, click the overflow button, then settings, then scroll to the bottom.

Are you talking about Voice over LTE in the bottom of the settings? I have it checked.
Yes, that is HD Voice.
It sounds like you meet all the criteria for HD voice. Unfortunately, I do not live in an HD voice area so that's the extent of my knowledge. Some say if your connection remains on LTE during a call it means you are using HD voice.

I'm not seeing the VoLTE settings. Would you help me with that, please? The bottom option on that menu for me is Tips & Help. The only pertinent option is Settings. Within that, the best choice seems to be GSM call settings. I see nothing about HD Voice or VoLTE. I'm using the T-Mobile network. Sorry this is off-topic.

Thanks.

From your home screen try settings, then calls. Do you see it on that page ?

If I select settings from the notifications shade, then select Call, I am taken to the same menu I accessed from the dialer. I see Preferred Network, GSM call settings, and Use Internet calling. None of these take me to a VoLTE option. I am on the US unlocked version, with software number 1.53.617.5.

Thanks again.

Edit: By the way, I am using the SIM that I used on my M8. A T-Mobile rep told me any nano SIM for their network should work with HD voice.

Crazy. Some model, same software version on AT&T...

Thanks for posting that. I am missing everything below Use Internet calling. I'll message HTC and see what they have to say, and I'll update here with their response.

I had to do a hard reset on mine after the update to get it to work.

to clarify a hard reset is a factory reset or?

I believe so. Just out of curiosity. When you powered the phone up for the first time, did you do this without your at&t sim installed?

Not sure if that would matter - when I first powered up my 10 and set it up it was on wifi without my SIM, I did not put it in until several hours later and it let me pick the network and everything appeared just fine. This was on T-Mobile though.

It absolutely matters that the sim be installed before powering up. Otherwise the phone software has no network settings to access.

This isn't right. You can set up your phone with no SIM. It will still provision properly for your network when you insert the SIM.
I can't remember the last phone I set up with a SIM in it.

Did it ask you to restart your phone after you picked your network?

So it didn't ask you to switch when you put the AT&T SIM in? That would explain a lot if so.

No, it didn't.

No, I didn't put in an AT&T SIM, since I am on T-Mobile, that's why I put in that qualifier. My point was that I did quite a bit on the phone for several hours on wifi w/o SIM, and then I put the SIM in with no problems once I confirmed my network selection.
