HTC 10 Users, are you happy?

No real issues for me with the phone. Bought it as soon as it came out and dumped my SGS7 Edge.
The HTC 10 is still as responsive as the first day. The phone just works. No slow downs, no crashes, etc.
Finger print scanner is excellent as is the size of the device, for me at least.
I am averaging around 22 hours of battery time with 3.5 hours of SOT, which is fine with me.

I also had the M8 and that is a great phone too. The camera on the 10 is obviously head and shoulders about the M8.
What about speed, do you feel it's much faster than the M8?

Cheers

Thanks for your answer. Did you came directly from it? Why do you think it's much better? I'm debating if I should upgrade cause I still love my M8.

Cheers
I went from the M8 to the M9 and then to the M10. The M9 was worth it. The M10 is definitely worth it. A better and yes faster phone, than both the 8 and 9.....

That's a good question...I just finally pulled the trigger on this phone more so because of necessity than need as my M8 battery died and I couldn't be bothered to repair it. I haven't received the 10 yet but I'm anxious to know if it will be a noticeable difference speed wise especially as I have about 200 apps installed on my M8.

However, I am having a little of buyers remorse because yeaterday I absent mindedly changed TV channels with my M8 and then realised that I won't be able to do that no more. But as an audiophile I'm looking forward to even better wired sound and I guess the finger print reader will be useful somewhat.

I'm not going to lie I was waiting for the LG V20 because I feel that is the natural successor to the M8 what with all the HiFi DAC and IR blaster. Still HTC is HTC and regardless I know the 10 will be a solid dependable reliable phone... Unlike other brands... Speaking of other brands It was hard to make my choice against the LG G5 and M10 but I picked the M10 because of reliability. LGs forums seem to have a lot more people complaining about hardware faults. That's something I've never had to worry about with HTC...I've dropped my M8, accidentally put it in water and it's still like day one. I hear the LG G5 is very fast but HTC is fast too.

Sorry went off topic there lol...if you're bothered about speed it's probably a good idea to check out bench marks as that'll give you an insight into how fast it is compared to M8.

No, thanks a lot for all your input. The problem is benchmarks are synthetic and don't always show the real world performance feel. I have a battery that is also not so good after all this heavy use (I bought it more than 2 years ago) so I will be replacing it soon. It will cost me 30 euros so it's not that expensive. I still feel this is a fast smartphone (which didn't happen when I had Samsung Galaxies) and factory resets do wonders. But I would really like to know if the performance is all that noticeable. Benchmarks say it's 2 or 3 times faster but... They're benchmarks ;)
I don't really use the IR blaster to be honest but I do enjoy having a fast and smooth smartphone and the "upgrade bug" is trying to bite me but the wise thing to do is not spend 550 euros on a new phone if this is working nicely, don't you agree?
When you do get it please share your thoughts regarding speed performance, ok?
Cheers

Thought about getting the Pixel, but definitely considering this after HTC dropped the price and the fact that it has expandable (and extendable) storage.

I am a bit concerned with sunlight viewing after reading some reviews, however. I live in Florida, will this be a huge issue for me?

I lucked out. I was previously on a different carrier to my wife so, I decided to change that and move both our phones on one carrier... I just called my carrier and added a second line to the account and got the HTC 10 for 'free'. Looking forward to it...I still seeing now positive reviews about the G5 and on certain areas it beats the HTC 10 in some speed benchmarks but this is splitting hairs as in the real world you're unlikely to see millisecond gains. If LG can get their heads together regarding their build quality then they might take HTCs place as the alternatives choice phone. However, I see a lot of people on lg forums saying that if you're lucky and avoid one of the earlier build/batches then your okay regarding build quality...I just didnt want to take that lottery risk... I stay safe with HTC and enough enjoy my reliability and smoothness of usage. Also I like the screen on the htc10 it seems brighter than G5.

YES! It is certainly worth it. The only HTC I have not owned is the M9, but I love the M10.
Thanks for the answer.
But why? Wasn't your M8 still fast and smooth, especially on Marshmallow? What do you feel is noticeable better?

Cheers

MY M8 was getting older, and it had some quirks that were slowly getting annoying, plus I really had a bad case of "New Car Fever". The M8 is my emergency backup phone in case the 10 breaks. I just sold my M7 to a friend, and I hated to give that phone up, I loved the M7, I just wish it had gotten Android 6.

Thanks for the answer.

If you wear polarized glasses DEFINITELY an issue, if not, no real issue.

Honestly, if you're happy with your M8, don't upgrade. 30 Euros for a new battery for a phone that meets your needs make a lot more sense than spending $550 to replace it. Especially since you have no real desire to ditch the M8. The M10 probably is faster and maybe smoother, but like a prior poster said, you would likely only notice the differences side by side. The 10 is likely a better device, but if you don't need a better device, then you're set.

Consider that the vast majority of phone owners around the world use phones that aren't even as powerful as the M8.
"Flagship" phones make up only a SMALL number of the phones sold world wide. It really is a skewed perspective that we all "need" the latest and greatest when what we have works just fine. (And this is clearly evident in the new Moto Z Play. Mid-range hardware that is exceptional and efficient for way less than your typical iPhone.) Toe social expectation to have whatever is new and that last year's model is somehow not good enough is stupid. This is true for phones, video cards, game consoles, cars, etc. The mentality of a disposable and insecure society.

Great wisdom, thanks!

Exactly my thoughts. Thanks! :)

My 10 makes me happier everyday I get to use it. I like it more, not less as the days go by. Wouldn't trade it for the pixel. Knowing me the way I do, that says a lot. Awesome device!

So you recommend it for someone who is having a depression?

Just thought of something that would make me even more happy using my 10. I like the Sense flip clock but it's so dang white! White is fine and I get it is how it's been and it's a Sense thing but, does anyone agree if it wasn't so stark starring white it wouldn't blind us so much in a dim room. Who needs a flashlight app with that thing. Wouldn't it be cool if the shade of white could be toned down to a more beige-ish maybe? More creamy. Back in the day when Windows Pro devices ruled the airwaves more, and custom ROMS were a piece of cake to install, there were flip clocks of all sorts of colors. Was awesome. All I would like is less bright than that god awful , high intensity, blasting out my retinas white. OK? Clock rant over

I just use the Google clock.

I rotate thru clocks alot and don't stick with the same one for to long, but I happen to like the flipper. I turn down my brightness so I'm probably saving battery. It's been around for so long you'd think it might get a refresh sometime.
