Here is the HTC ThunderBolt car panel restore, this should also work on any other HTC device with car panel originally installed.

The point of this update is to add the Car Panel back to the app drawer so you DON'T have to buy a car dock just to use the car panel app, and you don't have to go into System/app just to turn it on.

I have had numerous people tell me on XDA that they swear its located inside the app drawer, which i can argue its not, atleast it wasn't on mine even before rooting.

Instructions:

1. Use ROM manager to Reboot into recovery
2. In Clockwork go to "Mounts/Storage"
3. Mount System
4. Go back one screen, choose "Install ZIP from SD card"
5. After install, reboot.

Enjoy!

NOTE: This method must be done until Clockwork Mod gets updated for ThunderBolt, its glitchy right now that won't auto mount system when you install a ROM or update.zip's.

I have more restore apps coming soon! :)

and maybe some themes? ;)

Just an FYI, all I did was use root explorer and went to system/ apps car panel apk and clicked install. It says can't install but reboot the phone and it's in the app drawer.

Is there an option in HTCs version to add shortcuts like in Google Car Home?

I have the google one backed up with Titanium from when i had TPS rom.

I do like the look of these icons though. Can you give us screen shots of other screens if there are any?

I installed Car Mode Control (by IG88 Apps) from the Market. It's not a car home by itself, but launching that app puts the phone into "car mode" which automatically launches HTC's Car Home. Just another alternative.
