Htc desire hd wont connect to wifi properly. On/off/on/off...

My htc desire was working fine on the wifi at home but has suddenly started connecting/connected/disconnecting. Ive 'forgotten' networks and turned the router nd the phone on and off a few times but wonder if there is something else i could try before i abandon this. Any thoughts? Its driving me a bit spare.
This ipad connect fine!
