I'm a little confused now haha. Can you make calls while 3g is on or no? And what do they mean by "degraded". Does that mean its buggy or just a little slower?

I'm guessing it means the feature half works. Like wifi, you can connect to a network but can't turn off wifi, otherwise you'll need to reboot to get it back on. This thing is just blazing fast though. 3G calls is still a no go.

been running it for a few hours the way the phone is set up the longer you run it before a reboot the faster it gets. and oh boy this thing is fast. seamless in everything. the whole system now fits on the system partition which is good. bad thing is alot of things were removed to do so no the htc photo, music, footprints and a few other things were removed. the ril has been said to come this weekend as an update.zip, sorry its taking so long jake is building it from the source.

It definitely looks interesting but the one thing that is still holding me back is the issue with 3G and calls. I'm really hoping that gets fixed this weekend. It would definitely make a great weekend.

looks interesting. what are some of the biggest differences with the Sense UI? I've never gotten a chance to use an HTC phone, so i dont really know what the differences are. just looks like a different theme.

Yeah that is the only thing holding me back too, I really need to be able to make and receive calls anytime.

yeah, it's pretty much HTC's theme that goes on top of regular android. They also include their own set of widgets like the flip clock/weather widget that other paid apps try to mimic (beatiful widgets, etc). It also offers better exchange support allowing for security policies without a 3rd party app like Touchdown. Overall the transitions are a lot smoother too.

As for the 3G call issue, unless you really need data access while on the go, it isn't a problem. If you're within reach of wifi, you can just turn data off and you won't even notice the issue.

This looks so tempting but really want the 3g calling to work with data on :( with the incredible coming out soon would that help with the RIL?

They've had the incredible dump for like a month the ril is almost done won't promise a date but I will say their pushing for the weekend. Hope it comes out then

I wonder how much manual coding it takes to fix the ril? Bizz. Your making this so hard haha. I'm so close to saying F it and just download it but I really want the 3G to work fully

A lot of manual coding that's why its taking so long he finished it found s bug then went back to working on it that was a week ago. But as I said if you have WiFi at home that's the perfect place to test it. Won't miss a beat. I have to say its a joy to use this Rom now its fast and stable

I'm agreeing with the 3G sentiments from everyone - that's gotta work before it becomes my daily driver.

I will also wait for the clockwork version if possible, so I can flash back to cyanogenmod anytime I need to using ROM Manager.

Clockwork is a non issue flash Spr do a full wipe and load this Rom reboot set it up download you apps flash back to clockwork and do a backup now you have a backup of this in clockwork that you can flash at anytime.
I believe cyanogen can do this but Pete seems a little out of his league

I saw something about downloading a partitioner - can I still load this on Nandroid/SPRecovery, and it will auto partition for me? Aka as easy as loading other ROMs? (aside from I noticed I have to reboot after first sync).

Also, for calls - this will receive calls while on 3G, but won't do outgoing calls until 1X, correct?

wait.... so 3G incoming calls work perfectly or are there issues with it. if that's the case, i might just give it a shot

No its the opposite will do out going no incoming while data is on still waiting for the ril
