Does anyone know how to rename a shortcut on the homepage? I created 2 shortcuts to a contact, 1 for mobile and 1 for work. They both show up with the same name so it is hard to determine which is which. I tried holding down the shortcut and dragging it to edit, but edit is grayed out. Is this a bug or not supported?

Unlink the contact. In other words make 2 separate contacts for the person

oddly my green hornet doesnt seem to be in 3D at all ......


edit: restart fixed the issue

glad it worked for you. Done several restarts and 1 battery pull. Still no 3D for me with Green Hornet.

I cant seem to get wifi on my 3d dont know why gave my old 4g to my sister and she gets a perfect wifi signal(which is weird considering how bad the wifi radio was supposed to be on the 4g) anyways if anyone has any ideas for me let me know plz, also cant get any of the music that ive sideloaded to my SD card to play will only play the preloaded songs grr. meaning no ringtones bigger GRR!

I was having the same problem. Not sure if your setup is the same but my router was set to just send out a wireless N signal. Although the specs of the evo 3d state that is can use N, as soon as I changed my router settings to G is picked it up right away. Not sure if anyone else has the same issue, but that fixed it for me.

Having a problem with my app icons on my home screen, just a picture of android and not the app pic? Facebook, google reader, all just pics of android. Also having problems setting up my yahoo email. Please help...

Phone just erased my ENTIRE SD CARD. I'm fuming. Tried the SD card in another phone, nothing on it. I had this card in my blackberry for 2 years, no problem, it's an 8GB card and worked fine in my Evo3D for the last week. Wake up today and it's blank.

When I start my camera with the toggle switch on 3D, it still starts in 2D sometimes.

I need to switch it to 2D, then back to 3D for the 3D to take effect.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Yes, I have experienced the same only once so far, but haven't used the camera extensively yet.

Use a different Skin... Its been discussed before.

Yes this is a bug.

Quick fix is to change the skin to something else and all icons will be back.

Anybody noticed the calculator function acting strange? What I mean is that the buttons are a little weird compared to the EVO 4G. Also, I had a retro calculator that I downloaded from the marketplace on my original EVO, but that doesn't work anymore on the 3D. (I tried to re-download).

Also, with the text function, on the EVO 4G there were buttons all the way to the bottom that could move your cursor back and forth in case you needed to edit certain letters or words. Any reason they aren't there on the 3D?

Just wanted to chime in.. get Mort AudioBook player. I use it for few-hours long radio shows and it's outstanding at remembering the playback position.

Don't return the phone because of a stupid HTC software issue.

Does it actually work on the 3D and have a lock screen control? When the 4G had the bug even 3rd party apps wouldn't save the spot in MP3s.

I'm coming from Blackberry so some of these may just be settings changes I need to make and cannot find; but here are my perceived minor bugs/features I'm having a hard time believing aren't included:

-In Swype the Shift and Symbol buttons do not change color nor does the keyboard change accordingly to lowercase, uppercase, or symbols when you are typing, so you have no idea whether you hit or missed the button until you type a few letters/symbols and it turns out to be the wrong one.

-The toggle button to go between English and Spanish is between the comma and Symbol button, this is a bad place to put it as it's easy to hit by accident, can't find out how to remove it from the keyboard or lock it into English only.

-I can't seem to find how to drop a pin or marker in Google Maps like is available in the iOS version of Google Maps

-My business email is through Google Apps for Business and personal is Gmail, yet when adding both to the native HTC email client the contacts, calendar, etc don't sync automatically as well. I had to remove both accounts and use the Gmail app to get everything to sync and not have duplicates of every email/calendar appointment. The Gmail app then doesn't have a unified inbox

Feel free to let me know if some of these are settings/features I looked over, but I believe most are bugs

I don't know if anyone's asked about this yet, but it's driving me nuts: On the 4G, and most phones, I would imagine, when you've got it plugged into a power source (AC or computer), the screen doesn't time out, but with the 3D it still does, as if it were still running on batteries, so every 2 minutes the screen goes off and I have to unlock the phone again, which is extremely annoying. Does anyone know a way around this?

Try changing your scene, then change it back. That cleared up the icon problem for me.

Hey everyone,

I really love my brand new Evo 3D, but I ran into a problem that I hope you guys can help me with. Anytime I do a full shut down of the phone, I cannot turn it back on and when I try to charge, nothing happens. The only way my phone works again is to take out and put the battery back on. And I wouldn't mind so much, but I have to constantly be taking off my case to get to the battery. I have done this five times in a row without fail.

I honestly do not want to do a factory reset, because I have worked so hard organizing everything to get it exactly how I wanted. Have any of you had this problem? A restart works fine, but the full shut down gives me a problem.

If I have to do a factory reset, will the apps on my SD card install again? What would I have to do to get my phone back to how I have it in terms of apps. Thanks

Go get my backup pro app. Works great, back everything up to sd card in one file, then after reset, go to back up pro and restore.

I was scrolling through the home screen when I noticed there was a line of distorted pixels on my Google Search widget. I moved the widget somewhere else and the line followed it. I sort of panicked and worried that there was something with the screen. I removed the widget and that seemed to fix it. Anybody else encountered this?

Mine looks normal. Did you delete the widget and try to re-add it?

After my multiple updates I think it erased my Green Hornet preview (which I didn't get to watch) and my phone app is still missing on my lock screen. Is anyone experiencing this? Is there more updates to come to fix these problems?

If you go into settings>applications>development>then check stay awake. Then when it's plugged in, it won't fall asleep.

Do a full restart of your phone. It should fix the phone lockscreen thing, and probably the green hornet thing too.
