Yes this is my plan for the AM, but as i didnt see anywhere here the consequences of overheating, i wanted to explain what i noticed going wrong with my phone after i found it had gotten very hot.

I'm curious as to what car charger you were using. One day I plugged my E3D in with my Pre car charger and in about 5 minutes it got fairly warm, so I unplugged it. I've used my Pre wall charger and a Motorola car charger with no heat issues.

it was a typical USB charger available at radio shack, i bought it when i got the EVO 4G last year and it never once gave me an issue., also it has an auxiliary usb charging port, and plugging into that didnt work either, but it works for other devices i have.

Check the voltage ratings. Any android phone I've used has come with a 900ma-1A charger. Maybe the pre uses more than 1 and it's heating it up due to charging it faster.

the only problem is the phone is a month old... people need to relax there will be updates to fix problems, as far as i know there is no perfect phone in the world. If your phone has a legit hardware problem take it back and they will give you a new one. Otherwise be happy with having a great phone that can do a lot of different stuff. I think some of you kinda forget how far things have advanced and forget about the old rotary phone with no caller id or call waiting when some of us were kids. Take the time to enjoy stuff and stop trying to find every negative little thing you can about it

I agree, if my touchscreen didnt have dead pixels toward the bottom, any other glitch would be fine. Its a shame since this is the first real issue I've had with it.

From now on I'm going to monitor any new/different charging device I use with my E3D pretty closely. Two things solid state devices don't like are heat and vibration, i.e. dropping.

Been having some annoying issues. The weather widget on the front screen will sometimes say "weather not available", and sometimes I'll get into a stretch where no data loads. Twitter, FB, internet, nothing. I'll have to either restart the phone, or at the very least turn airplane mode on then off.

What gives?

Yeah i brought it into the Sprint store which i purchased the unit from. And i had a list of all the issues i encountered after the overheating. They plugged it into their diagnostic system which tested just about everything the phone can do and it failed the diagnostic test. So they just gave me a brand new one and all is right in the world !!

Anyone else notice that the speaker isnt as loud as the EVO 4G speaker also??? I missed alot of messages due to that and I have it at the loudest it can go...

Although I have not griped publicly about it, that is my only issue with this phone. Can barly hear the phone ring. Pretty sure that can be fixed in a software update.

This phone is way too sensitive and there is no fix for the poor signal quality issue yet either!

Well then I'm lucky because i get same signal performance and as for as sensitive goes I have no idea what that means,, maybe yours needs therapy.

I got my EVO 3D on Sunday and was loving the watching videos on ESPN.com (of course with the mobile view turned off) on the new higher resolution screen with HD aspect ratio. Then suddenly on Tuesday when I try to play a video on there I get a "Content not available for that device" error. I don't understand this as I'm able to watch videos on YouTube (the website not the app) and the video ads on ESPN's site play. I have no idea what changed to cause this. Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have a solution?

Im actually going to get mine swapped out asap because My Evo 3D is barely getting 20kb down on 3G and struggling to get 1 down on 4G, mind you this is in my neighborhood where I was previously getting 1 to 1.5 down on 3G and 8 down on 4G with my Evo 4G... I tried all of the fixes that sprint recommended and none of them worked.. I even had someone with an Evo 4G at a best buy that I was at today run a speed test on 4G and they got 7 down, I also ran a speed test on my 3D two feet away from that person and barley got 1 down!!! thats absurd!!! Sprint Approved an exchange but I have a weird feeling that the new 3D will do the same.... We shall see.

The low volume of the external speaker was my biggest gripe, but yesterday I installed Volume+ from the app store ($1.90, although you can download it from the developer's website for free) and it has really helped. I can't remember if I read about it here or on one of the other threads discussing the low volume.

Had issues with my headphone jack. Every time I plugged in my earphones or aux cable into my phone, it would think that a headset w/ microphone was connected and the phone would wait for a voice commands and would also randomly change music tracks when using any music app. Also, my HTC Sense homepage would restart from time to time. I called Sprint, they sent me a replacement phone and so far no issues! All is great with the world once again!

What is a typical speed people are seeing for downloading/uploading using the 3D on 3g? I got 216kps down and 15kps up on 3g. Is that decent?

It depends on your area.... those speeds that I posted are based on my city
