Htc evo 4g kernel source code [Test kernels and questions here]

You can use tools to extract all the "guts" from the factory shipping rom, then reverse engineer the components, as well as add/edit startup parameters.

Sense UI ROMS are basically all the same parts, just put together differently and optimized in different ways. Grab your favorite rom.zip and open it with 7zip and poke around to get a feel for it. And if you decide to go forward with it, holler. I have no time to support a ROM, but love tinkering and am happy to help anyone out.

Attachment shows the CPU is following the rules i posted earlier just fine. Thanks HTC :)

So what does the kernel source code allow you to do differently that the previous methods would not?

The kernel is what directly controls the hardware. You can (for example) overclock the CPU, remap RAM, add support for USB devices, etc etc.

K so I've seen no Shenanigans go on... :(

Sadness...

I'm Waiting for a Full Froyo V series... I cant WAIT!!!!

Thats all i need and Im Ditching Hense all together

1.15 GHZ OC/UV test kernel

Overclocking can brick your phone. These are the changes from the CM team (pershoot) which has been running forever on the N1 Snapdragon. At your own risk, etc.

Setcpu autodetect
max freq is 1152
Be sure to set a temperature profile as well as an AC charging/full profile & watch your temps.

Also system/etc/init.d scripts are run at boot, lowmemkiller and zipalign scripts are included. An enterprising soul could add an aps2sd script there.

the app in the screen shots is Android System Info by ElectricSheep. i don't believe it actively manages the low memory killer -- it just displays what the system is set to. the jumbalaya is actually what is running the show. he is just showing what the kernel is actually set to in those screen shots.

I used max 1152 and low 384 on demand. I have a temp, battery, screen off, and ac charging profile. Its working good so far with no problems.
