HTC EVO 4G LTE: Last Update 4.13.651.4

Well the data roaming is better, but now my proximity sensor is a mess. Half the time I get done with a call I am seven layers deep in an app that I was completely unaware that my cheek was manipulating.

Has anyone had the issue on 4.13.651.4 where the LTE will stall and you will have to put it into airplane mode and take it out to reinitiate the LTE. When I change the setting to just use the CDMA I can be on data all day but the LTE issue is driving me mad because it will not show an error sometimes the 4G symbol will stay in the notification bar the only way I find out is when I check my email and get a error.

Is there a way to make the phone history the default instead of the last person? I really don't like that new 'feature'.

I couldn't wait any longer, sorry HTC but I just bought a Moto X yesterday off contract because frankly I didn't think the M8 was worth extending my 2 year contract for. It's too bad bc I still like my EVO, but the shutter sound always on, no data roaming, and other bugs for over a month isn't cool. A working Jelly Bean and Sense 5 would have held me over until your next device. Oh well, it was a good run Evo.

PS. Bought the Moto X on eBay for $260, brand new, factory sealed.

Not feeling it.....we were promised this update before the end of last year. Tomorrow is the beginning of the second quater.....

I have tried this update and it seems like a downgrade to me... here are my reasons why

Music app is awful now, you can't browse an artists albums, it just lists the songs and everything. It also doesn't have Pandora, etc. in its main menu
When selecting text, you no longer get the zoom in the actually see what you are selecting
Camera shutter sound is permanently on
Back button long press no longer brings up browser history
Clock and weather on the lockscreen and app drawer is cool, but its useless without location turned on. Why not let you set a city and go like the widget allows ?
Dialer app is much worse, no color coded symbols for incoming, outgoing, missed. Quickly finding a name by typing the letters is no longer quick as it doesn't give a list to choose from
Home screens no longer carousel and you cannot hit home twice to bring up all screens at once

The positives I can come up with are
Able to close all tabs in web browser
Notifications are much better

Am I missing some things here ?

I would have ordered an M8 as soon as it was available however the bottom bezel is just completely ridiculous and makes the phone much taller than I would like. Without the bottom bezel that phone would have been absolutely perfect (maybe a better camera, but that doesn't concern me). May still end up with an M8 but I'll just wait to see what that G3, Moto X2, and maybe Nexus 6 bring to the table.

Just curious... Why is everyone so concerned with the shutter sound? I take a lot of pictures and it just doesn't bother me. Maybe I'm missing something? I'm pretty satisfied after the update, although the dialer is kind of a step back in my opinion, and I am getting used to it. I have the weather location turned on and it works great. I've disabled all the bloatware I don't use and my battery life is good. I'm really looking at the M8 also and like everything, but am concerned about the camera. If it's the same detail or better than this one. it'll be fine. Pretty much the same (or similar) software as this update..

Sometimes the loud shutter sound is a distraction to others. But I am still on the 4.3 update. HTC never sent the 4.4, and I will wait for the final update. Tired of getting the phone the way I want it, and I don't miss data roaming too much, since I also carry an iPhone 5S at work. I will upgrade to the M8 when the price drops and will use the EVOLTE at home to control my home alarm system. I agree that battery life is improved and so is memory management. I actually like Blinkfeed, too. But HTC should give us a $100 off coupon on any of the new M8/HTC One varients. This final update is WAY overdue. M7 camera is pretty good, so M8 should be better. Now that the M8 hubbub has died down just a bit, I will message Mo and Jason and Martin at HTC about timeline for the final update. Inquiring minds want to know.

I like to take pictures of our baby sleeping. Shutter sound wakes him up. There's other times as well when I wish to take a picture without everyone knowing it.

I'm thinking 4.3.4 might be the last update. Guess I don't care about the shutter sound and I have data roaming again, although I little slow to switch. I'm good until I get the M8 soon. If you want the 4.3.4 update I'll put it on DropBox and send you a link. Let me know..

The back button does still bring up browser history, but it's very intermittent on my phone. That's definitely a bug. I agree on the camera shutter sound. It's annoying as heck, and the sound is also there when I take a screen shot.

Sent from my EVO LTE baby!

I doubt there will be an official update. I have a feeling Sprint doesn't want this released, partly because of the trouble a lot of people are having with the RUU. I'm sure they would rather not deal with the headaches. 4.3.4 will hold me over until something better comes along. I'm not sure I want to stay with HTC, and especially not with Sprint. Sprint service is simply disappointing where I live (Phx).

I'd like to get and try the 4.3.4 ruu. Tried asking HTC (on Twitter) for any updates on a fix for the no-data-roaming problem; they said something like hold the power button for a hard reset. #thxForNothing

Just curious... .

I have a five year old and a two year old. When I could disable the shutter sound I could silently take pics of one or both of them doing something cute and take several pics until I had a decent one. Now the instant either one of them hears the shutter sound they go into ham mode and any chance of candidness is completely out the window. I had no idea how frustrating that part would become.

Also, I am dropping at least four to five calls a day now. It has gotten down right embarrassing actually. It took me four calls to connect with a client today as the first three all dropped within the first thirty seconds of the call. My etfs become affordable in May and I am pulling the whole company out and over to verizon. I am sick of the bad signal (Cincinnati) and sick of the bad phone.

In their defense, my business partners have Galaxy Nexus' and they have absolutely no glitches or problems with them... but the terrible signal affects them just as much as me. Man do we miss nextel, actually, data speeds were quite similar.

I would agree with that 100%. I can't believe how bad they screwed up the dialer!!!!!!!

I would just as soon go back if I could. Maybe root and install meanbean I guess, that would do it! May even fix my proximity sensor issues.
