HTC EVO 4G Newest sprint update dated 6/30/11/NEVER ACCEPT AN OTA

Re: HTC EVO 4G Newest sprint update dated 6/30/11

is there a thread we can subscribe to to be alerted when the new root comes out?

So I must admit this decks rom is pretty intense guys(my 3 mentors), you are able to make so many tweaks to it, as to make your head spin! I got a feeling I'll be playing with this rom for a few weeks before I switch over to a new one..........any suggestions guys?

Another awesome ROM is the VaelPak. Quite a few people use it as there daily driver, plus the Dec recently released an AOSP GB ROM. Which from what I can tell is very nice. I used his Sense ROM for quite a while until I came across Deck's ROM...which I gotta say has been my favorite so far. :-)

Vaelek's AOSP Rom is very nice. It isn't built from CM7 at all. At first I was only playing with it but it is now my daily driver. For a preview it is very stable. He isn't even calling it beta yet.

Vaelpak4 AOSP GB. Its still 2.3.3 and Vaelek still has it as a preview. Still very stable.

Link for it is in my sig. It takes you to his site.

I was on his site today to see if anything new was up and seen your name.

I had better luck with GPS with his rom than CM7. I used it just today at work as we had to cover a near by fire department because they were on a large call. I had no clue where the streets were in that city, but with his reliable rom we got around without a problem! I think he is close to releasing preview 3. Not sure what all will be included. He mentioned it not too long ago.

I was a fan of his froyo rom until I discovered AOSP. He talked a LONG time about doing one. I'm glad the wait is over! Vael is the sh!t.

Hey smoke ya gotta check out my topic on boot manager a real solid app and lets you keep up to 5 active roms..........its the **** too!

I haven't seen much discussion as of late in regards to the otas that were pushed. Hopefully enough people have heard of the consequences of accepting by now, that people have stopped taking it. Might just be wishful thinking though. :p

I don't know about anyone else, but for me the custom ROMs have never notified me of an OTA update. The wife has an evo shift and got one last month I think? I can't remember, but never-the-less, I didn't even get notified that there was one available. Then I started playing with some of the newest ROMs and noticed things like sense 3 (which has the coolest lock screen IMO), the notification drop down had changed like hers did, so I'm wondering if the devs haven't already incorporated the latest update into the newest ROMs. I'm not sure which ROM to stick with, and yes I know that it's all subjective as far as preferences. I don't know how people have been getting such high quadrant scores, I can't seem to get past 1100. My linpack is at a nice 34 though. So far the highest quadrant I've gotten was with MIUI. I just hate the way that it resembles a cry-phone. Loaded launcher pro on it though to get rid of that nonsense but still had the benefit of the high quadrant score. The only other high quadrant that I've gotten is when I loaded the ultimate droid, but I've heard that he was involved in those tornados down south back in the spring and therefore hasn't been able to do much in the way of updates. Not that I'm complaining, I wish him all the luck in the world, just giving some info in case anyone wants to look for TUD. Other than that, I haven't had much luck with speed and definitely NO luck with battery life. Even after trying out different Kernels (which my phone crashed after half of them), I can only last about 4 hours before it's down to power saver mode. If anyone has any tips on that, I'm all ears. I've turned off 4G, bluetooth, wifi notification, mobile network (when only on wifi), adjusted screen timeout, tried bloat freezer, etc. Well, time to conclude this war and peace chapter. Much luck to all on making your phones your own.

For those that try bleeding edge ROMs, I'm trying out Synergy's RLS1 + GodMode ROM located here ([ROM] Synergy - [RLS1+GodMode 08/05/2011] - Now With Warm Sprinkles! - xda-developers). I'll let you know how it works but one thing that interested me is the ability to use Wireless N, which according to this post ([FIX] Wireless N on Evo 4.24.651.1 ROM - xda-developers) is only supported on Synergy, Fresh Evo 4.2, and a stock 4.24 ROM. Basically, it has to be a 4.24 sense based ROM. Anyway, off to explore the unknown.......may the schwartz be with you.
