All of u who are rooted should NOT update, OTAs and HTC software updates have been known to break root, go into settings/Updates/Software Updates and uncheck the auto push feature that allows permission to update. I learned my lesson with the last update from 4.22. Also, HTC installs a security app in the system call loggers that basically has full reign to send your personal info from any app user or system that has the internet permission! This is the main reason for this update, the other "enhancements" are filler to make it seem like its not just about this major security hole. Those of you who have a file explorer with R/W like Root Explorer can navigation to system/app and remove HTCloggers.apk, you'll be much better off. Devs r still finding issues with these apps that post your data. You can go to XDA and get the rooted odex or deodex version of any OTA so u can rest easy.

This latest update fixed my Picture mail issue.... Thanks HTC......! My phone is once again perfect!

I updated this before rooting my evo and now i have baseband 2.15.00.08.08 and i was going to use unrevoked3 to root but now i see that my new baseband is not listed in the unrevoked3 baseband list.
Is there another root for me?

So far, it hasn't stopped the random white screen reboots. Another interesting thing is, "Default" is greyed out, I can't find Launcher Pro among my apps in the list until I go into Menu and Manage Applications. Then I can find it but "default" is greyed out there too. So apparently Sense "decided" that I can't disabled it or enable/use Launcher Pro. Way to go HTC. My next phone will not be an HTC. I hope the Photon is more stable.

Eternitii, two things to try.

1. Keep pressing the search key as you dismiss the force close. If you get the search function, type settings, then clear the HTC cache.
2. If you have vlingo as your default voice search, HOLD the search key down, and say "settings"

LVRealtor, I'm trying to help my daughter recover after the update. She is getting the process.com.htc.launcher loop. Her phone is not rooted. We tried your suggestion to press the search key. She was able to clear the cache, but it didn't help. Any other suggestions? I did search the forum but only found reference to this when the phone is rooted.

Dutch, My only other suggestion is to try again to clear the cache then immediately reboot the phone.
