These are the specs for the new HTC First:

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core
RAM: 1GB
Display: 4.3-inch LCD, 720p
Camera: 5MP rear, 1.6MP front
Connectivity: Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS
Four color options: red, blue, white, black
4G LTE
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean + HTC Sense 4.1 + Facebook Home

Facebook Home aside, I think these specs are great for a worthy developer's and or backup device. What do you think?

Wish more phones would have 720p in the 4.3" screen size. If this phone had a snapdragon 600 and didn't have Facebook home it'd be my next device most likely.

Couldn't you just use a third party launcher with this device too, though?

Hmm idk those specs seem low to me if it had 2 gigs of ram and the newest jelly bean ditch the facebook homer and out a 1080 screen on it yea ide buy it
Oh and a huge battery that's removable and 64 gigs

U can just turn off Facebook home and it will basically be a stock android device. Tour not gonna get the latest updates directly from Google but its still a good phone and 4.3" in 720p is perfect for me.

Me too!! the round edges look good.. I also came across a review that was quite interesting.. I don't think u should call this a failure model just because u thought it was a facebook phone.. come on.. any disagreements?? HTC First Full Review

I picked one of these up to replace my wife's aging iphone 3. I first set it up by turning off facebook home and installed Nova launcher. After that I realized this was a really good phone. As I just returned the HTC One (bad reception at work and just too BIG (for me)) I am thinking of getting one for myself. This is a great size for a phone, it has a great screen, have noticed no lag at all and is very light weight. I think the big problem with the phone is that they call it "the facebook phone", once you get past that its great.
