HTC First : Saving photos?

When someone sends me a text with a picture in it how do I save the photo??

I've tried everything, and looked everywhere for a way to save pictures with the stock app. I've never been able to find a way to do it. I think they left this function out of the messaging app for the HTC First.

Best solution I've found is a messaging app called Textra. App doesn't take up much memory and works much better than the stock app.

Wow, I had no idea this functionality was missing. I have used ChompSMS on this phone pretty much from day one, and this functionality is included in that app. Long press on the picture in the message timeline and you get the option to "save to SD card," which saves the photo to the downloads section of your gallery app.

Very weird omission from the stock app!

If you long-press to the left of the message, it will pop up and give you the option to save the attachment. That's how Ive been able to save them.

touch the text in the text, menu will come up; Save picture.
