Htc Inspire sideload update!!!!

Alright, I've been waiting for weeks for this update, too, and was even told two weeks ago that it was being sent to my phone during a tech-support chat. Was told to wait 24 hours...it never came. So I forgot about it. I literally just jumped into a chat 5 minutes ago, asked for them to push it to my phone, and voila, there it is. Keep trying folks.
 
Let me just say this..it's all about who you get on chat. Just like ztorin above, I had been waiting for weeks,spoke to 7 different techs. I just got on chat and pushed it to me instantly. Just gotta keep trying.

tech's name was Jodie Hayes.
 
I am still on the phone for over 30 min and 3 techs and they still do not know what I am talking about. I am not able to do chat here at work hopefully I will be able to get on the chat when I get home.
 
I just talked to two different reps and they were very helpful, I will be getting a call back around 7 tonight when I have wifi access to receive the push. Hopefully it will work out!
 
I've had this update pushed to my phone a half dozen times. It will not install, and instead brings up an error message related to authentication. After numerous calls and chats with tech support, I finally received a call from a rep named Charles. He was by far the most knowledgeable I had yet spoken with. His final answer for me was HTC will be releasing an update that deals with the authentication problem. Haven't been able to verify this anywhere else, however. So heed this at your own risk.

Still no update.
 
Just as a warning, this might ruin your MMS. I can't send or receive picture messages now and besides a reset there doesn't seem to be a fix yet.

Yeah, I did this but now I can't send MMS. I'm probably going to have to do a Hard Reset on my phone. :-[
 
Done by calling AT&T tech support. Took about 30 minutes, but was completed while I was on the phone!
 
I forgot about my callback, but she left me a voicemail dating that she went ahead and pushed it, I look in my settings... And by god I got it!!!! wooooohooooo!!!
 
Finally got the update after my 3rd attempt calling! Was on the phone for about 45 min. The tech was really trying to get me the update. Knew exactly what I was talking about. I was on hold quite a bit while he was figuring out what to do. As soon as he figured out what to do, he got the update pushed to the phone. I watched it just appear in "applications" section! UNKNOWN SOURCES.....yay

Just keep trying everyone...dont give up. Keep calling and you will get someone who can push it to your phone while you are talking with them.
 
Okay when I ask for the. Push later on I get "complete setup?" It ask you to press yes or no. I select yes and nothing happens. No unknown sources or anything else. Any ideas?
 
I also received the "Complete Setup Yes or No" and selected Yes but nothing. This came up three times yesterday.
 
You need to power down the phone and the turn it back on after that. Then it shows up. Also for anybody having trouble getting this update, I went through the following to get it: numerous calls to ATT, found out my new Inspire was using the old phone's 3G SIM card and not a new 4G SIM, was told it was not registering properly on ATT network, then told to go get new SIM, got new 4G SIM, phone still did not register properly, then told that IMEI # was not setup correctly when I purchased the phone and could not be verified properly and they needed it from the phone to reverify. Two days later I called back, now phone registered properly, they could push the update. I got the " Complete Setup Yes or No" message. Then I had to turn off the phone and turn it back on. Then I had Unknown Source options in the application tab. Hope this helps someone.
 
I also shut down the phone after each time and still nothing. How do you know the difference between the 3G and the 4G SIM Card?
 
Also, my phone had a triangle with an exclamation point in it in the upper left hand corner with it was not registering with the ATT network.
 
Now they are e-mailing me something to my home e-mail address about how to use the sideloader. This is crazy!!!

It's because you're confusing them with the term "sideloading". It means something completely different to them. You should be asking about "unknown sources" or "3rd party apps". This has been explained in a couple of threads already.
