HTC M8 Lollipop update

Please don't take this for a "when will the M8 get Lollipop" post! I'm just curious about the timescales as HTC have always said that they will bring 5.0 to the handset within 90 days, but I've recently noticed that other manufacturers - such as Samsung - have been saying that they are going to bring it as soon as the end of November (I believe Google launches Lollipop on the 3rd) It strikes me as ironic\odd that Samsung were historically one of the slowest to deliver software updates to customers while HTC seemed to have made the whole 90 day thing as a reason to buy the M8. Seems like a marketing ploy that might backfire if Samsung customers have it 2 months ahead!

Again, not trying to "start anything" Just an observation...

Welcome to Android Central! This article mentions Jan-Feb for non-GPE M8 models: HTC Android 5.0 Lollipop update timetable

My main concern would be Samsung rushing things, and then pushing bad updates. We've certainly seen too many glitchy updates from Samsung these past couple of years, so let's hope they get it right this time.

Plus they are working from early source code that isn't released. HTC has it with sense 7 and 5.0 I've seen some screenshots.

Yes I've seen the screen shots too. Do you mean that htc have a more advanced version of 5.0 then?
