HTC M9 Review from Tweakers.net...man this thing overheats

The bigger concern is why HTC is trying to stop reviewers from releasing their reviews before the device is released.

The S6's embargo is set to end early April, yet Samsung doesn't threaten reviewers to take down their reviews if they break the embargo. Why? Because they are confident in their own products and know that their phone will impress reviewers. In fact, all the S6 reviews so far have praised it - They call it the best phone ever made, the closest thing to a masterpiece, superior to the competition in every metric, the fastest Android phone they've ever used, etc. etc. They're all glowing and the S6 is getting some of the highest, if not the highest, scores ever given in tech websites. Geeksandcom, for example, gave the S6 a 9.15/10, the highest score they've EVER given a phone.

Where are the M9 reviews besides that tweakers review? That review, while legitimate, is only there because of an embargo date confusion. What is htc trying to hide? That ridiculous drama that happened with the Dutch tech sites on Monday only made everyone on reddit suspicious of htc's motives.

Yes. Already, we've seen close to 10 in-depth reviews of the S6 even before the embargo lift date and Samsung is just shrugging their shoulders and doing nothing.
Of course, all of those reviews were praising the S6 to high heaven, so Samsung sees no reason to tell them to take them down.

Within an hour of the first M9 in-depth reviews, HTC threatened reviewers to take their reviews down.
Does that not make you suspicious?

The M9 is going to be an awesome performer. I'm excited to see how the 810 and Adreno 430 perform!! Being that Sense is a well-optimized UI Overlay and is devoid of excessive bloat, the M9 is going to be silky smooth.

They could fix it by more careful throttle. A 0-day upgrade could fix this easily. With sealed battery, any elevated temperature of the device is not gonna be good.

I think that the most they (HTC) could do is to optimize the runtime performance of their applications and UI overlay. Anything outside of that is beyond their control I think. Should a user execute an application that was poorly written by the developer, leading to excessive usage of CPU cycles and the GPU, I think you'll have those conditions regardless, especially when you end up with runaway processes. If you include the fact that if the device is being charged while doing process intensive task (i.e., GPS, Benchmarks, Video Recording, etc) that are discharging the battery at an even faster rate, the device will still be susceptible to high operating temperatures.

You're assuming that someone wrote something without Samsung's permission.

You should probably stop doing that :)
