HTC One autocorrects "the" to "th?"

Hi all,
When I type the word "the" into a new SMS message on my HTC One, and hit space, the first word it comes up with is "th?" with an acute accent over the "e",
I have checked my Language and Keyboard settings, and the system language is set to English (UK) and the HTC Sense Input has only English ticked, and "None" ticked under Bilingual prediction.
it doesn't seem to do this with any other words.
Does anyone know why this might be happening or how I could fix this?
Can I just outlaw "th?" from predictions somehow?

If you add "The" into your personal dictionary which should be in the keyboard settings, you shouldn't have to worry about it being corrected.

That's very likely since i doubt every htc one has "the`" for auto-correct.

Which means, he needs to delete that entry from the personal dictionary of the HTC keyboard.

Mine sometimes does this too, also does it with "a" too, set to EN and nothing in personal dictionary???
