HTC one available for purchase in store today?

To go along with that, I remember a few comments made by cell phone companies immediately after the launch of the first iPhone that poo-poo'ed the idea of a touchscreen phone. How times change...

That said, I'm a little tired of lawsuits over rectangles and rounded corners. A lot of cars have four tires and all TVs seems to have large rectangular screens these days. :)

I remember quite a few comments from Steve Jobs about how 7" tablets (smaller form factor than the iPad, really) were worthless and not worth pursuing. I also remember him saying the original iPhone was the "perfect size" phone and the bigger variants in Android were incorrect.

Now guess what? Apple is backtracking all of that. Yea, they might have been trendsetters but now they are full on followers.

Meh, the lawsuits don't affect us as consumers, they just make the lawyers rich. Apple and Samsung for all their lawsuits, still do billions worth of business together.

It affects us when they put bans on products. Wasn't that long ago when galaxy products were banned. I remember with the galaxy nexus got pulled off the shelves. Sure the GNex wasn't the best device but that's one less device a consumer can choose.

Actually, they do a little less recently. :)

Yeah looks like Apple is in the process of breaking away from Samsung for their processor supply. We could all see that coming. Along with them removing Google apps as core to their platform. Even saw something that they want to work with Yahoo for deeper integration into iOS.

Wow, you should look into Steve's pension for disinformation. He was known for downplaying devices/technologies all while Apple was working on them. Then when Apple would release their version it, it would be awesome and the statement would be something like "Everyone else was doing this, but we've just done it better." And 9 times out of 10 they were right.

I mean, Steve said Apple would never make a phone, then, boom, the most successful smartphone family was born. Steve said no one reads books anymore (iBook Store). Steve said no one wants to watch movies on small screes (iTunes Movie/TV Store). Steve said a lot of stuff to keep the industry guessing. Whenever Steve would say that "Apple isn't interested in making product X" all the tech journalists worth a damn would start researching Apple's entry into that market.
