HTC one available for purchase in store today?

What about the hardware??? Damn this next week is gonna be a loonnnggggg one.

I saw this phone this morning at my local AT&T store. The build quality looked excellent and it felt like a premium phone. And this is coming from an iPhone 5 user. :D

I was surprised at how light it felt, even though it is heavier than the iPhone 5. I'm going back tomorrow morning to take another gander at it.

Yeah I bet, and that's what I like. I mean I like lightweight phones but I also like to feel like I have something worthwhile in my hands too. Kind of goes along with that "premium feeling" that's all talked about, the iPhone just didn't have that for me.

Thanks mate.

I have to admit that the iPhone 5's weight is just fine for me. I don't need to have a lead brick in my hand for it to feel substantial. That said, the additional weight of the One felt just fine as well.

You know if you go to the AT&T HTC One page and click "check in-store availability " it will show stores that have them in stock. Only one store near me has it.. But I'm going to just wait

Where do you do that? I can't seem to find it

So I pre-ordered with Best Buy 3 weeks ago. I'm coming from an Iphone 5. I browse Craigslist today to see how much Iphone are going for because I was either going to trade mine in or sell it. Well I see an ad on their with someone wanting to trade The HTC One for a Galaxy Note 2 and $100 cash. Long story short I traded him my Iphone 5 and $150 cash for the HTC One. The guy actually worked for a Sprint retailer and claimed that he won the phone during an HTC training meeting. Phone was sealed. Great phone. Much lighter than I thought it would be. Definitely needs a case. Sound is incredible. I will post some pics as soon as my friend comes over because the only camera I have is on my phone. I got to keep my upgrade credit and still have my pre-order from Sprint.

IPhone 5 is selling for more than what I a new HTC one plus 150 bones would get you. I always check swappa for the going rate.

Its on the left side of the page. What I don't know is that just because a store has them in stock does it mean they will sell them?

A iPhone 5 is not going for more than a HTC one sorry..

Sold my Verizon 64gb iPhone 5 a week and a half ago for 700. Considering it still costs 800 full retail, that's a deal for someone else and a steal for me lol.

Also had wife's 32gb listed on amazon (was going to get her a t-mobile one) for 689 and someone purchased it. I had to cancel the transaction after we decided she was getting sufficient 4g service. After fees I would have take in about 640. Just need that one buyer lol.

I said plus 150 it's not and actually it all depends on the storage of the best phone. The 64gb is fetching almost exactly what a dev HTC one costs new.

Agreed. I've always sold my old iPhone to pay for the new one. Never had to pay for an iPhone except the first one. Unlocking them has historically boosted the resale value.

Yeah iPhones (along with other apple products) typically hold their value longer than competitors. I think for a couple reasons:

1. Perception of apple products being premium
2. Devices are supported for several years after release. How many android devices released last year still have not gotten jelly bean or will never see it without flashing a rom? Too many.
3. Timing of product releases. With 1 iPhone released per year it helps keep the device feeling new even if it isn't the latest model. Unlike some android oems who release several devices a year which quickly kills their other devices and cause value to decrease
4. Competition. No one else is releasing devices with ios but apple. But android devices kill each other off.

Not saying its good or bad but it is what it is. Take it from someone who is always swapping devices. I see which devices you can get cheaper. You can pick a SGS3 up now for the price that iPhone 4s is going for.

Went to my ATT store, won't sell it until friday, but they had to check the system to find out;clueless of any info. But the phone itself is absolutely amazing, it feels great and looks beautiful, lag free and runs as smooth as butter, the speakers are loud and clear and the camera is really cool
