You've had half a dozen HTC phones, yet after noticing nearly invisible scratch marks you're done with the brand? Where's the logic there? You must have been pleased with their devices, but you're letting this single incident ruin the brand for you?

On an unrelated side note, I can't even imagine the miserly a car salesman must go through when you purchase a new vehicle.

Everything in the world is scratched. You know why the aluminum back isn't a perfect mirror finish? Tiny, evenly distributed scratches. Even the glass screen is scratched. All over. Probably need a good microscope to see it though.

Hey, there is also bacteria all over everything you touch.

WHAT?!?!??!?!!?! THIS CANNOT STAND!!!!!!!

Come on people. . He is after all KingAL. :p This is really pushing it though. A scratch thats noticeable by the naked eye on the glass, ok, complain and exchange or return but flashlight to the sides?.. I bet the special gloves aren't so special, causing the scratches :p

Wow, I needed a good laugh and the special gloves and flashlight! Not trying to make fun of you op but to start a thread like this you have some issues to resolve.

If anything OP you shouldn't be that crazy over it.. To expect a PERFECT phone from ANY manufacturer is kind of crazy.....

If it had a huge scratch I would 110% agree with you but... Very itty-bitty ones that you need a flashlight and "special gloves" to see... Is to crazy. No phone is perfect.... I don't care what people say. Even if it's from HTC, Samsung, Motorola, etc... None are perfect.

I'm curious as to the gloves.. What is "special" about them.. Are they white gloves used for inspections? Is there such a thing as phone inspection gloves?

When you buy a new car, it will have tiny scratches due to rail dust, etc. Don't sweat it.

Yea maybe I'm to picky but I'm the only one who seen these marks on a brand new phone without use ?

I have, but then again, I use special electron tunneling laser glasses to inspect all my phones.

After reading op I decided I should look closer to see if my phone has similar defects. Some of the things I've found are the speaker holes are not consistently sized. The front facing camera is about 2 nanometers left of off center. The shiny HTC logo on the back has several uneven scratches. I think I'm also done with this company.

I thought I had purchased a Galaxy Note II. I am so done with HTC!

You're the only one who's noticed this because people don't normally closely examine their phones with flashlights in regular, day-to-day use.

You honestly shouldn't be bothered by something that isn't noticeable and doesn't affect the functionality of your phone. Plus, how much time do you spend examining the phone's sides or back when using the phone's screen (which is on the front)?

Oh....... I thought you were talking about wearing a baseball glove when you said special. That's how I inspect my phones. I wear two catchers mitts. Not too cool because I keep dropping the phones............ but seriously, why do you wear gloves at all to inspect your phone? Your hands and fingers can't possibly be rough enough to leave scratches, can they?

Are you serious?

I recently bought an HTC One in black from at&t and I used special gloves to unbox them like I do for all my phones but as soon as I picked up a flashlight and started examining it I saw a number of tiny circular scratches on the sides, everything was perfect and clean but the sides I'm a big HTC fan I had the HTC Evo 3D, HTC One S, and the HTC Droid DNA. But the One S and DNA had the same issues they were perfect but the sides had these marks after normal use sometimes fresh out of the box this enrages me so after the One I'm done with HTC.

These marks he's talking about are probably from the manufacturers cleaning and detailing process. Aluminum and/or plastic has to be cleaned up after processing as they leave jagged and sharp edges and it doesn't matter if they are laser cut or not.

But special gloves and then using a flashlight to look for flaws on a phone...on anything...is asinine. I would hate to go with the OP to pick a new car. We'd be there a month!!

Lmao this.
