Maybe UJ or wizzrah will know. By the way how do you like the nexus 5 an moto x? I considered both in case i ever stopped using the One but wasnt sure which had the better speakers between the twin and which took better video an pics

I'm not familiar with it either, but you can use something like Goo manager. That has an option to reboot into recovery

I like both, but lean to the X. I don't really utilize the sound from devices, but the battery life is a whole new breed of awesome in the X.

Ok what i did instead of reboot i just turned it off an then turned on holding power an volume down.

I like both, but lean to the X. I don't really utilize the sound from devices, but the battery life is a whole new breed of awesome in the X.

Nice! I like the X due to its size an being close to stock as possible out the box plus i heard battery life is really good combine with the breathing notifications.

I thank wizzrah an UJ95x for being patient with me throughout this whole new world of learning how to unlock,rooting etc. Very good info and steps. Waaaay different from when i had an iPhone.

There are three ways of booting into recovery.

1. Use a cmd aimed at the folder I provided you with and type in "adb reboot recovery"

2.Turn off the phone. Hold power+vol down. Select recovery in the bootloader menu.

3. Depending on the ROM you flash, some of them let you boot into recovery simply by holding the power button and selecting from a menu that comes up.

Then people wouldn't use my toolkit. If I make a thread I guess I'll include the automatic method (toolkit) and a manual method (this one). Both do the same thing.

The reason why I decided not to tell him to use my toolkit is because:

1. It helps him learn the commands.

2. It's fun for me.

3. Others can see it.

While my toolkit could have done this in less then 30 minutes, I think this was all worth it.

Thanks its been a heck of a time learning all the steps an whats all needed etc etc. But thanks to wizzrah for having LOTS of patience and walking me through every step,i couldnt be more thankful! Thanks wizzrah! Hats of to UJ95x as well! For answering questions and helping me whenever wizzrah was away from the topic.

Yeah i like how simple SlimKat is an sleek. Only issue now is the camera quality from what i tested so far.

Here is a guide on how to use adb and fastboot commands on Mac:

That way you can use the "adb reboot recovery" command to get into recovery as well.

Also remember, always wipe if you're going to flash a new ROM. You don't want to develop the habit of dirty flashing ROMs.
