HTC One Corp. email "Activate device administrator" 11-5-13

Hello, I setup my HTC One to receive my company email three months ago. Then all of a sudden on the evening of 11-5-13 I got "Activate device administrator?" There is a coworker with One mini that also received it. My IT department says they have not made any changes. Any thoughts on why?

Well, my first and only suggestion would have been that your companies IT department made changes, but aparently not. Have you tried following it's instructions?

No idea why it would just be showing up unless some something has changed, ie an update to the Exchange Server or updates to policies. You are getting the warning because if you wish to continue to receive Exchange email on your device you will have to allow Exchange ActiveSync (really whoever the administrator is) certain controls over your device for security reasons. Some examples would be remotely wiping the device and setting minimum password strength requirements.
