HTC One Developer Edition

Its worth it just to not have ATT logos plastered all over it. Easy rooting and unlocked bootloader are just an added bonus since Im sure the att version will get cracked.

I'm wondering the same thing. I HAVE to switch to Att regardless. I buy a phone every year and sell my old. The contract doesn't bother me so I think it makes sense for me to go through Att. I want to take a break from flashing custom ROMs so I promised myself I'd try it stock for a while. About the time I get sick it it'll probably have the boot loader unlocked. So many questions.

The unlocked bootloader is nice and I may take advantage of it at some point. I will just be happy that it won't include any carrier-mandated applications or services on it.

i think that lady from htc is full of it. it's not a true dev device if it doesn't come with s-off.

I hope you are right, but more than likely you are just in denial. Both Leigh from HTC and the HTC website have responded with comments saying the phone does not have s-off.

Could you buy the unlocked version and then use it on the Verizon network, or do you need to have specific radios for verizon

The radios will work fine but there is no way in hell Verizon will activate a phone they didn't sell you. AT&T is the only network who will.

Any GSM carrier will activate a unlocked phone that isn't theirs.

Only CDMA does that

The network bands should be compatible with Verizon's current 4G network, however it doesn't support 1700/1900 MHz LTE which Verizon and Tmobile will be using in the future. I don't think Verizon would allow this phone on their network anyway, though. They don't want you to bring your own device.

wouldn't this mean that the carrier versions should be cheaper? surely no one would buy a 32gb locked version from AT&T if a 64gb unlocked from HTC could be had for the same price.

They would if its at a subsidized price and they dont have the cash to pay full price for the dev ed.

If you buy the unlocked version and it accepts a micro SIM, couldnt you just transfer your already activated Verizon micro SIM to the unlocked version and change apn settings?
